I have yet to get a direct answer for this question. Everyone seems to divert it by bringing up falsehoods about God.

OK. first of all I don't know if there is a God or not but I am sure the God that religions introduce to us as appears in Bible or Quran does not exist. The very significant factor you are igonoring here is that we never prove the non-existence of something! In that manner we must believe in Vampires, Unicorns and all other absurd beings and if asked why, we can answer prove they don't exist ! which u agree is not rational. Moreover, I have been asked this question before (prove God does not exist) and this question is usually asked when a believer knows there is no logical way to prove the existence of God, yet he is afraid of losing faith so he comes up with that question. My dear friend, the question you must ask yourself is whether the God you believe in (Jesus, Allah , etc) is the true God if there is a God ? Look at the big picture, this giant and huge universe of which we are just an insignificant part and ask yourself is it really as simple as Bible tells me ? wether there is a God or not is not our concern. We have to focus on how we can make a better world, help the poor, cloth the naked, feed the hungry and for that we need no order from God. Good Luck

I cannot - nor can anyone - prove absolutely that God does not exist. Whatever arguments anyone attempts, or whatever facts he may try to use, there will always be more speculations that believers can throw back in his face. Quite simply, you cannot prove a negative.

However, there remains a completely valid reason that no one should believe in God. Just as I cannot prove there is no God, I cannot prove that there are no purple monkeys on mars. If I say that there is no evidence for the monkey's existence, others can respond by claiming the they are invisible and leave behind red dust as droppings. Whatever I do, there will always be similar ways to counter the lack of facts.

But just because I cannot prove that there are no purple monkeys on mars, should you beleive that they exist? Of course not.

Man's knowledge is based on reality, and its observable, undisputable facts. We base our beleifs on these facts, using them to create a rational view of the universe. If there is no evidence for a belief - and this includes an infinite number of beliefs - man must disregard it, because it has no bearing upon the life he lives in reality.

I cannot prove that there is no God - nor do I have to. The blatant lack of any reality-based evidence for God's existence speaks for itself.

"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." Stephen Roberts

Believers have the burden of proof. It is not our job to prove that a god does not exist, rather it is your job to prove that one does. There is no evidence of the existence of god other than religious works, and these works were written by the believers of each religion, circular reasoning. I can prove to you that there is no god right now... If a deity exists, I ask it to strike me dead at this moment... I am still here. The problem is that you dismiss this evidence by saying that "God doesn't want to kill you so he won't." When you choose to ignore evidence such as this, it becomes impossible to prove to you that there is no god.

The fact you asked this question is conclusive proof he does not exist.

If something exists, it's existence is not questioned, ergo God does not exist and you proved it.

Additional comment:

In other words, you weren't really looking for an answer.

This is the direct answer to your question. You have proven God does not exist by asking the question. That is not my opinion, it is an observable, demonstrable fact. People do not question the existence of things that have existence.

It's logically impossible to prove negative existence. Asking someone to prove that God does not exist is like asking them to prove that leprechauns don't exist. We're pretty sure that they don't, but it's impossible to prove.

That's why, in any argument about existence, the burden of proof is on the "pro" side of the debate.

EDIT:
...and you will NOT recieve a direct answer to your question. Your question demands that the respondant defy known laws of logic in order to answer it.

Cant answer this question because he does exist. I know he has actually talked to me twice in my life. Once when I was 18 driving back to base at 4am after a 4 day pass I had went to sleep at the wheel I heard My own fathers voice yell "Wake up (my name)" I know that was real I heard what I heard I drove the next 3 hours without any problems of sleep. The next time was when a girl I was deeply in love with had left me for another, I was at a friends house and got drunk really drunk, I went outside to my car just to lay down. I couldn't hardly walk I was so drunk. I got in the back seat and laid down I was giving God %#@* and asking why this was allowed to happen to me, why wouldn't he answer me. When a small quiet voice said to me " I speak to you in your dreams but you don't listen, Let her go" That was kind of wild and I would have thought it was my imagination except for the fact that I was suddenly sober, I could walk a straight line, I started the car and drove home, this when 20 min earlier I had severe trouble just walking to the car. Thanks for the points, Sorry for the wrong answer, but God is real!

Good question.

It is relevant to note that there is scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God (see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm)

Cordially,
John
