isn't it weird that the illegals might get their amnesty and gay people in the US have been protesting for years and years to have equal rights and the gov't is not giving that right to them?

pancha...i will clarify everything once and for all. i have developed a "dislike" towards a certain race due to the fact that i have bad experiences. i was bullied in school by a gang of cholas who made constant remarks about my rich parents, my clothes, my expensive bags, shoes, etc and my gay friends. they gang up on you and they don't fight fair. i also experienced a sexual criminal act committed by a hispanic garderner/lawnmower man. yes, i'm still angry...if what i have experienced happens to your kid...i think you would feel the same. there.

Straight people can't bring their boyfriends over either.

As I recall this story, they met for a week in Mexico. I don't think that is the "marriage" the immigration laws seek to protect, regardless of sexual orientation.

Personally, I have nothing against gays, but I am not currently in favor of liberalizing immigration laws until we settle the mess already on our plate.

My point was that a one week relationship is hard for me to translate into 'fiance' either.

Does he really feel certain this is the person he will be with 20 years from now, after one week? However, I agree that gay relationships are not given the same deference, however longstanding they may be.

Have any of you considered that maybe by restricting gay travel it "might" help prevent more cases of aids? Or that they are assuming that a gay person has a much greater risk of developing aids and if we let them cross our borders then we'll be footing the bill for their treatment? Quite frankly I do not not want my tax dollars being used to the benefit of any homosexual. You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.
I'm not defending the illegals but: why hate an entire race of people for what one has done?
If I read your statement correctly: you hate all Mexicans because one of them hurt you,but your family will hire the illegals to work on your property? Is that what you were saying? If so,then your family is as much of the problem as the illegals themselves are! Do you get the picture yet?

So tell me this, Sugarpie? If all the illegal immigrants were gay?Would you have a problem with them?
You should know that there are plenty of gay men in those countries.Maybe they don't want anymore.Maybe they don't want the competition.Maybe all the immigrant gays are taking the jobs of other gays.Is that right?Maybe if that gay wasn't there a native gay would fill the position.
I hope all see the sarcasm*

Look sugarpie....I'm sorry for your "encounter" and I'm sure I would have similar feelings If I had been effected in a similar way.Hate isn't gonna solve anything. You may need some counseling.Seriously.

Sadly because GLBTQ people do not have equal human rights yet. But it will come in time once people really think about different views and the rights of all living creatures.

At one time people of two different races, like white and black, were looked down on if they wanted to marry. Now people see that it was a mistake to do that. Soon all people who love each other will be able to marry and have equal rights under the laws in the USA.

Must be more to that-many can not get their boyfriend/girlfriend over. And many gays have made it over.
As far as rights-sometimes gays do get a short stick (but so do others) Like traditional marriage laws. If we open one door to one sometimes we open the door for others to push in. Example-Tradition marriage-if we change that -Utah is just waiting to say marriage to children is OK. Or Bestiality (and my dog doesn't like humans-if I die someone will want to marry her and expect sexual rights). Sad but true. With many with no common sense to make sure the laws included children and such protection-others push in. Or its would be Discrimination. So even if someone thought that gays could marry -they wouldn't change the laws because of Crashers. We have a friend who is gay and would not change that law for this reason.
So short end of stick-we all feel that are rights are violated at times and we are sure of why -rather sex or nationality or race or religion or culture. Part of the deal of life so far.
Sorry for your friend.

Sugarpie, as long as they go through legal processes, it makes no difference. At least gay people are true to themselves and don't make a big issue out of it. Verdad?

Wish people like you would stop using the word "Gay" as it means "happy" and start using the correct and appropreate name that was given those ?????? many years ago. I don't hate people who are sick.

They have tightened visa & immigration due to raised terror threats. I have never seen "are you gay" on any goverment application. I do not think they have time to think about sexual preferences. Do not look for bigotry where there is none - it will find you on its own.
