The word bible means the folder or what you might call your book holder. There are 66 canonized books in the bible. Written by many prophets over the course of 1520 years, beginning with Moses the lawgiver until Jesus. Moses wrote the first five books which is called the Torah meaning Law. It just happens it was written by Moses 2520 years after the fall of Adam. God said he would avenge Cain 7 fold and Lamech seven times seventy. God said death reigned from Adam to Moses or what you would say from the fall of Adam till the Law. Then the Law had dominion until Jesus redeemed them from the curse of the law because no one could keep it except the Savior. This is why we know Jesus is the Savior. I don't want to spoil the rest of the story. God Bless

Jehovah God is the Author of the Bible. If you received a letter from the President, even if it had his signature on it, you know he had someone else type it out and send it to you. It is the same with the Bible. God transmitted the information to about 40 different people over a period of 1,600 years. Three languages were used by writers who lived in a number of lands. All the writers had different personalities, abilities, and backgrounds. But when the books they wrote were eventually gathered together, it turned out that, really, they made up just one great book following one basic theme from beginning to end. Yet, the Bible is just such a library. You can ask any one of Jehovah's Witnesses that you meet to prove this to you. Ask for the book: 'The Bible--God's Word or Man's'.

Every word of the Bible is God breathed. The words that the apostles and others wrotedown were from God. One way to prove that Bible is true and that even through translations down the years that it remains true is simple. The Bible is used as a road map for archeologocal digs all over the world. The Ark and many other things have been found due to the Bible.

A bunch of random men supposedly from a couple centuries ago, writing about their experiences with "God."

Another fact: the bible has been re-edited consecutively over the centuries. And when shet is constantly reedited, they lose their true story, new stories are produced and whatnot. Also, the guys that did write the bible were more likely people the heard second hand stories from others.

Enough facts right there to claim the bible illogical. But that's just what I think. A lot of people trust it more than the 10 commandments.

The Jewish and Christian Bibles are actually collections of what were originally a number of independent books. The overwhelming majority of Christians refer to the Bible as the combination of Hebrew Scripture, known to Christians as the Old Testament or First Testament, and the New Testament, which describes the life and message of Jesus. For Roman Catholics, the Eastern Orthodox, and some protestants, the Deuterocanonical books — various writings important in the Second-Temple period of Judaism (often regarded by many protestants as the (or part of the) Apocrypha) — are considered to be part of the Old Testament and as such part of the Bible, although they are rejected by many protestants and are not in the Hebrew Bible as accepted in modern Judaism. Some books considered deuterocanonical by Orthodox Churches are considered apocyphal by other Orthodox Churches and/or Catholics. For Jews, the term refers only to the Hebrew Bible, also called the Tanakh, which includes the Five Books of Moses (the Torah) as well as the books of the Prophets and Writings. Both Christians and Jews regard the Bible as the revealed word of God, with widespread variation on its accuracy, interpretation and legitimacy.

Dear Kochu,

The Christian God inspired specific individuals through the years to write the books of the Bible.

The Bible is not a single book. It is a collection of 66 books that were written by about 40 individuals (under the guidance of the Christian God) over a period of about 1500 to 2000 years.

The first compiled book in the Bible is from about 1500 BC. However some portions of the book (Genesis) are compiled very likely from earlier writings, dating back to 2000 BC and earlier.

For more detail regarding the Bible and what it teaches, please see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/bible.htm

In what Order should I read the Bible ? See, http://www.godsci.org/gs/new/readbible.html

May God bless you today with Peace and Joy,
Cordially,
John

I am a athiest and man wrote the bible. If the christens want you to belive that god did then they will lie and say god did to make to belive in their lies that they have been telling for all the time. Its a man made story to serve the churches needs and while they hide beind it and start wars, rape kids, fight amoung themself (just look and see how may trys and version so churches exist and they all dont get along with each other), hoard money and then go to shurch to ask for forgivness and do the crimes all over again and again and again........................

Christians believe that the bible was written By God thru forty men using the holy spirit over the span of thousands of years. All sixty six books agree with one another in doctrine as well which is one of the criterion they used when compiling them for what we call the "cannon" or accepted scriptures that are inspired by God that you see today in a regular bible.
