I'm a dog person, so I'm naturally inclined to think dogs are better than cats.

However, I think since their purpose in the human world is to be companions, the one which best fills your needs for companionship is the better of the two for you, so dogs may not be better for others.

I have 3 cats and a dog. I think that dogs crave more attention than cats do. They just want to be with you. Cats just want to be near you when they want to be petted. But dogs are also more work than cats are. I don't have to wake up at 3am because my kitty suddenly decided he has to go outside. This is why I love them just about equally.

I think cats are better than dogs. Dogs stink, are big and slobbery, and jump all over you and everything else, especially if they are outside dogs.

Cats are sweet, fluffy, soft, kissable, huggable, cuddly, and walk all over you with the gentlest little paws, and sit around looking cute and being perfect.
You can always love on a little kitty when you need kitty hugs and noone else is around, and they also play with you and you can chase them around the house and play with them and their toys.

Dogs are good though, good question!
Dogs are very loyal, protective, and trusting, and will always be your best friend too! My favorite dogs are collies, golden retrievers and chows!

I just love cats more because they are so funny how they think they deserve everything and all of my cats get whatever they want because they are spoiled perfect little angels!!!

Dog supremacy.

To be fair to thoise whining and crying at cat haters or dog lovers, I will list pros and cons.

^Dogs:^
Pros:
*Loyal animals
*Many useds (hunting, herding, etc)
*Active (at least many, like mine, is.)
*Their licks arn't all that bad.
*Very simple to train
*Very popular animal

Cons:
*Can be agressive (my state has been getting plenty of dog attacks lately)
*Fast (so you cant really catch it if it breaks free)

^Cats:^
Pros:
*Small
*Easy to train
*Require less
*Nice and soft (ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.........)

Cons:
*Only really useful for cuddling if anything.
*Ack! Once I was licked by a cat, and it felt like it was scratching me!
*Can be pretty lazy (though my friends kitten isn't)

Lets add em all up (Ill update later for more pros/cons)

Dogs: 6 Pros - 2 cons = 4 overall
Cats: 4 pros - 3 cons = 1 overall

Result: Although I like both, I always, in an arguement, lean towards the dogs.

Dog's rule cats drool

Dogs and cats are like apples and oranges! I like both for different reasons.

My dog loves me always, she follows me and is always happy. But sometimes I don't want a 35 pound dog standing underfoot, especially when I am cooking or trying to wash clothes.

My cat always loves me, except when he hates me. He loves me on his terms. He is happy sometimes. His love is different and I understand. He gives me love bites and rubs against me to mark that I am his, when he is in a lovey mood. And he sits quietly in my lap, without squirming and having to give me smelly dog kisses and wiggling.

I love both of them. It's like having 2 children. One the 5 year old who always wants to help. The other is a teenager, who loves you when you feed them, but hates you when you do something "stupid" whatever they think is stupid.

I do like dogs better. I can't be around lots of cats cuz my sis' is allergic. [Plus: Cats don't seem to like me and scratch me alot] Dogs seem to like me and I like them, too!
