I am atheist.
I think religion was made to make people do the right thing. the ten commandments for example. They teach good things but people wouldn't have listened to them if they didn't believe that they will be punished. Besides people need something to believe in because they can't face that life can suck and they are helpless.

you can't be sworn into something you don't believe. some parents believe that they can affect their child's beliefs, they can influence but the ultimate decision is up to the child.
some people find reassurance through their faith.they feel it. the basic ten commandments would make sense, its just common sense. they get twisted along the way though. the bible is a law book written in a time of unrest and seeming lawlessness. it brought order to masses.
there are so many other religions because not everybody bases their faith on that bible.

People are sworn to their beliefs because of their personal experiences and relationships with God therefore God does exist. There is assurance with comfort and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Our hearts is where the answer lies which is God. It's not rules that we live by but Faith which makes sense. Only sinners are punishment not believers. Religion is man made therefore other religions are false and Christ is real.

Well, it does exist. The ideas in religion (any religion) exist as a concept, and it's to belief in the concept as true that they are swearing themselves.
Whether or not it has any basis in fact is another matter, and unfortunately one none of us will probably learn until it's far too late to tell anyone else what the truth is.
As inadequate as this answer feels, it's ultimately right:
When you're faced with a world of beliefs but no truth, you will inevitably choose a belief to fill the void the truth leaves behind.
We don't like holes in our worlds, so even if it's a fantasy, we'll fill in the gap just so we can say it makes sense.

actually the Bible was relevant, is relevant and will always be relevant? Outside of ceremonial laws, state to me what in the Bible is not relevant. many people speak of errors and mistakes in the. But yet their only exposure to the Bible is the one on the top shelf that hasn't been touched since Great Grampa used it in the 1800s. Context is context... change a word here and there the whole story is still the same... man is corrupt and needs to be saved from himself. The bible has stood the test of time. many laws across the US and many parts of the world are Biblically based.

I see you don't have faith.IF it didn't exists why was a book written about it and everything so far that has been written has happened.you must not have it in your heart that's why you don't understand.if their wasn't any laws made by GOD this world would be even more of a disaster, their is so many religions because men have made it that way, because they want to believe in their own ways.their is only one God.so one of all is right.we will find out when GOD comes.even if you are in a religion that is false and you don't know it's false you will still have a chance, ,as long as you believe and have faith in GOD and his son Jesus Christ.but if you are in a religion that is false and you know that you are breaking Gods laws you won't make it.

Very logical question
In India oath is allowed to be taken on tamil literature books even and some saint like people. On their own conscience
There is no bigger court than once own conscience.
Regarding religion some say it has only put in moral fear in people to be humane. Some say it has done more damge than good
In HINDU philosophy the ultimate stage is that there is no GOD except our own conscience and that to realise that there is some superior force with laid down rules according to which the entire universe is functioning and we are all part of the same.
But to come to that stage of realisation, like leading a child with a lolly pop , all these idol worship etc are initiated .and once the foundation is laid rest follows of its own accord.
I would say you are in the near final stage of realisation. Once you start thinking deeply you will realise YOUR GOD.

How many times am I going to read these questions?
It's like asking the question, "What is 'normal'?
You can question this about others. You can question this about yourself. Yet, you can also question the world according to how you think and believe. However, most people don't agree.
For the simple reason, is that we all have 'free choice'. We all have opinions. Some are wrong, some are right, but according to whom? What we read in our history books? or that Professor in college that has a Master's degree in psychology? We find what is right for us, how it fits in our life, not theirs. I don't live my life for my neighbors, you, or the Fed Ex guy that has extremely nice biceps. I live my life according to what I believe. It's just that simple. What is normal for you, maybe abnormal to another.

Those religion's are made up by secular people who have no idea what they're doing....it's all about His will for us, we are created in His image, and we should try to be just like Him. I definately believe in God, I'm a recovering addict, and I realize if I didn't have Him in my life I'd be dead or in jail. My reward is eternal salvation. And the bible is right, I live by it, and I'll die by it too.
