Alright, I'm going to explain this to you. The bible is mostly true, but the King James, and many other versions are grossly mistranslated. In the early Christian church(While Jesus was on Earth and afterwards) the main Christian belief was Christian Universalism, which is the belief that although there is a hell, anyone who goes there will eventually be united with God. But a lot of "Christian followers" wanted to make amends to the bible. The original language was hebrew, then translated to greek. A lot of the translaters disliked and misinterpreted the greek language.
Therefore there is a great possibility that one of the main foundations of the Christian and Catholic religions is false, Eternal punishment. More and more scholars, translaters, and christians are starting to believe in christian universalism because of 1 simple word. Aion. This word means an indefinite period of time pertaining to a certain length, which is the context it is believed to be used in in the greek bible. However this is not how it was translated in many english bibles, it was translated to say Eternal. Therefore in the greek bible when it said "Eternal damnation" it meant "Indefinite amount of chastisement pertaining to a certain length." If this theory is proven to be true, which scholars and translaters are working on it would mean that although there is a hell the suffering that goes on there is indeed not forever, and lasts an amount of time probably depending on the person. For example it would be pretty safe to say that Hitler would be there longer than someone who cheated on their spouse. I don't know if that answers your question but I guess it means through God's mercy all people will eventually be good.

Jesus died for the forgiveness of sin. It does not prevent mankind from committing sin and if the gift of forgiveness is not accepted by the individual, then the sin is theirs and is not forgiven. They must account for the sins they committed. Even Christians can sin, which is why the Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. God knows the heart and knows if the sinner is truly repentant of their sin. The sacrifice Jesus made makes it possible for us to ask for and receive forgiveness, but we must ask, it isn't automatic.

Only those who truly seek forgiveness from Jesus can be forgiven. Jesus died on the cross so that all who sek him shall gain eternal life. As true chritians do we sin after repentance? yes we are mortals with souls living in flesh and bone bodies we make mistakes but that does not mean we are dammed to hell for it. We sek forgiveness from our Lord and try harder to not do the things that separate us from God. Yes bad people can be good people but they have to seek forgiveness from Jesus, accept the forgiveness He gives and no longer do that thing , at least try their hardest and ask God to give them the strength to not do the crime again. If people do not repent and accept they cannot be forgiven therefore they deny Christ and suffer the punishment. No one but God and the person knows 100% but usually you see a cn\hange in the lives of the person who sought forgiveness.

There is one word that you left out and it is an important word... that word is RIGHTEOUSNESS... it means being in accordance with morality or virtue... and the amount of righteousness a person accumulates in a lifetime is the "treasure" you put into "heaven's bank" to stand in your stead. Bad people may be forgiven of their sins if they repent... but they do not have any legacy of a lifetime in working toward righteousness to add to their "heavenly bank account."

Sins are only forgiven if one ask and stops sinning and keeps the commandments of God. and for those with Hell on thier minds. Hell simply means the Grave.

If one takes the Jesus myth seriously and literally, it is no longer possible to "sin." Nor is it necessary to do anything to gain "salvation."
He either paid for all sin, or he did not.
If a person is required to "repent," Jesus did not pay for all sin, so his "sacrifice" was useless.

All sins are forgiven for those who request forgiveness from God. He gives it freely. We must then decide to take it or reject. Its like at you birthday, people give you presents. What you do with it is your decision.
