I have owned Pits for 15 years and one thing I know is that you can not make the body big. The body size is what the dog has been bred to be.
If the dog is under 2 years old it has not stopped growing. By the time a Pit is @ 1 year old it will reach its max height (give or take 1 inch). From 12-24 months it will continue to "fill out" to its max weight.
For the health of the dog you should never try to make a dog smaller or larger than the parents were.
Running with your dog is a great way to insure the the weight the dog gains is not fat but muscle and a great way to burn off some of the excess energy they have.

I used Purina puppy chow . Twice a week I fed him 3eggs mixed in raw extra Lean hamburger with 1/2 cup of olive oil.
My batman is 100lb and not fat.

Bill Jack dog food in your grocers freezer...it's the best at gettin pits body size big...believe me, i've seen it...lol
