Socks already have holes weather they are new or old. The hole is where you insert your feet, but sometimes additional holes happened because of wear and tear especially near the toes and heels. That is because of FRICTION between the foot and the wall of the shoes as one walks.

Well...it's like this...the dryer gets hungry too, and they like socks to eat. That's why they disappear. But sometimes...they take a "bite" and change their mind...and decide on a different "flavor". This (possibly) being your favorite old jeans...and that's how you get holes in your jeans, too...see? I know this becuz...the washer & dryer belong to the same Union. So remember...talk nicely to them both...or trouble may ensue...LOL

Well if your talking about white socks, it's usually because of too much bleach.
