When you do turn eighteen, you will be able to call out sick for yourself. However, you can't do whatever you wish. Unfortunately, you still have to abide by the school regulations if you want a diploma.

Woo! Join the club!

At least in my school, one must always have a parent either call in or send a note explaining absence. If a parent doesn't, the attendance office thinks someone has skipped and the person recieved a detention.

It always varies for every school but, again, at mine, one can change classes before the school year starts. After that, one has one or two weeks at the start of the year to become familiar with the schedule, but if a student is unhappy with it it can be changed. The same rule applies at semester, but at my school one can't change classes in the middle of semester.

I got involved with Glee club,Drama club etc. etc . This is the last time you will see all these people under 1 oof so why try to be a wisre a---. When you leave all these people you will never se them in one place again SO ENJOY YOUR SENIOR YR.

Only a kid would think the best thing about being 18 is calling in sick to school...you've got some growing up to do yet.

well i was a senior this past year. Let me tell you that most of the same rules will apply, but most of the time they can let thiongs slide. Espeacially at the end of the year. Just a little advice..... Don't get caught up with Senioritis.. Which is the feeling that you can do just about anything and get away with it. Trust me you can't get away with everything, but just have fun!!

It depends on the policy at your school, but probably not. They like to keep you caged up like children until the end of Grade 12 and then toss you out into the adult world of college with no middle ground!

Doubt it. They still will consider you to be a child. But there isn't any harm in trying. What have you got to lose! Buck the system.
