While the above answer is very elaborate, the fact is that it was created by a bunch of individuals with their own agenda. Keep in mind that before Christianity they adored multiple Gods in many places in the old world. If Im not mistaken Christianity was forced upon the population by Constantine (a Roman Emperor)and his mother. As far as Im concerned the Bible has lots of beautifull thoughts, ideas and values, but its not all true, not to long ago we didnt even know that there were hundreds of Gospels deleted, because some group of people didnt like what they said. Not even 20 years ago the Gospel of Judas was found and presents Judas as Jesus most thrusworthy Apostole, who are you going to believe? what they want you to believe or whats written on an old and real document. If there is a Bible that is close to the truth it has to be the one that was around when Jesus was born, he based his teachings on that Bible; Who are us common men and women to come up with different versions of what we think it should say or teach and I might be wrong but I think Jesus didnt agree much with the then so called Bible either. Bottom line, take care of you and your family, love and respect one and all, dont hurt other beings and help the needy. I assure you you wont need the Bible and all will be well.
IMHO

Alright, I'm going to explain this to you. The bible is mostly true, but the King James, and many other versions are grossly mistranslated. In the early Christian church(While Jesus was on Earth and afterwards) the main Christian belief was Christian Universalism, which is the belief that although there is a hell, anyone who goes there will eventually be united with God. But a lot of "Christian followers" wanted to make amends to the bible. The original language was hebrew, then translated to greek. A lot of the translaters disliked and misinterpreted the greek language.
Therefore there is a great possibility that one of the main foundations of the Christian and Catholic religions is false, Eternal punishment. More and more scholars, translaters, and christians are starting to believe in christian universalism because of 1 simple word. Aion. This word means an indefinite period of time pertaining to a certain length, which is the context it is believed to be used in in the greek bible. However this is not how it was translated in many english bibles, it was translated to say Eternal. Therefore in the greek bible when it said "Eternal damnation" it meant "Indefinite amount of chastisement pertaining to a certain length." If this theory is proven to be true, which scholars and translaters are working on it would mean that although there is a hell the suffering that goes on there is indeed not forever, and lasts an amount of time probably depending on the person. For example it would be pretty safe to say that Hitler would be there longer than someone who cheated on their spouse. So to answer your question, no, I do not believe the current bible, but the original bible, yes I certainly do believe it.

I'm not sure. Sometimes I think it's an incredible myth! Other times I have to remember that Jesus is a historical figure, He did live and now, some of the events in the Bible have been proven to have happened.
Sometimes I look at my kids and think they're not just a cosmic accident, are they? I mean all men can't be! We're really complex to have just been an accident. And if we evolved, then why don't we see human mutants (signs of evolution) now?
So, I'm still working all that out. Most times though I don't really believe in the Bible or God or Jesus. I belive in trying to be as good a person I can be and setting a good example for my kids.

I believe that the Bible is true. I just don't believe that the world view of "Sola Scriptura" (Bible Alone) is true.
Sola Scriptura is the idea that the Bible is sufficient enough for matters of doctrine, faith, and morals.
It can't be true.... there are 300,000 different denominations.
The Bible came from the Church... The Church did not come from the Bible. The first Christians did not have a bible at their finger tips.

Yes. There are many proofs. Here are some:
1. It contains scientific facts--like the world is round, and that we have DNA--long before man discovered these facts. (Isaiah 40:22; psalm 139:14-16.
2. It contains many prophecies that have been fulfilled and are being fulfilled in our time. Read Daniel 8:3-7; 20-24; 2Timothy 3:1-5.
3. Many of the eye-witnesses who wrote the Bible laid down their lives to defend what they wrote.
4. These eye-witnesses were honest. They did not hide the mistakes (grievieous ones at that) that they--or some of God's worshippers--have committed.
5. Today, the bible can change lives if only humans are willing to listen. ( Hebrews 4:12)
What about you? Do you believe in eye-witness accounts, or would you rather believe fictional writers?

Well, as a Muslim, I believe the original Bible was the only true Bible from God, but since it was saved not, I believe today's versions of the Bible are not trust-worthy, and any thoughtful individual can recognize that, as soon as he or she reads one or two or let us say three differant copies of what is supposingly "The Bible".. today's versions amazingly say differant stories, that can never be joint, and that is along with the great number of contradictions and numerical errors.. I mean no offense, I am just trying to say the true answer that matchs reality.
My Regards.

The Bible is 100% true. The King James Version of the Bible fell down amidst a chorus of angels when Moses was on Mt. Sanai.

only the weak minded believe the bible is true. it is dissapointing for people to rely on something that does not exist. those bibles were written by ordinary people who use the so called bible to gain loyalty and power. Everyone who believes in gods are never truly free. from what I have heard and seen people are afraid of the power of a non existant being. and that is what is causing most disturbances in the world.

No. It was written by humans and altered by humans. Some stories (Adam and Eve, per se) are in there not for historical accuracy but just to paint a picture.
The bible was altered many times, one that's a favorite of mine to point out is Council (of Trent, I think.) It was there that PEOPLE chose whether Jesus was god or man. Some passages claiming he was man were then destroyed.
I repsect other people's beliefs, but I must say that I don't think anything is 100% truth, especially something as old and religious-related. There have been a lot of religious fanatics in the past and who knows what was altered, in anything.
