Well my dear, first of all, if you old enough to do these things without being aware of what you were doing, why, would you want to know how to tell your mum, did you ask her if you could do what you did? so why now ask, how to tell her, you need to get yourself to the doctor and take control of the consequences yourself. After you know what the situation is then confide in your mum and explain to her how stupid you were, she will respect you for taken responsibily for your actions, and will be there to help you. I know, I am a MUM

Just tell her. It'll be uncomfortable, maybe even really uncomfortable, but MOST moms handle these things better than their kids think they will. (If there's any chance of her hurting you, though, try the ideas below. Not ALL mothers are safe to talk to.)

If you decide you would prefer not to tell your mom, here are some ideas:

If there is a Planned Parenthood office near you, you can see a doctor ~without~ your parent.

Your pediatrician - or whatever doctor you see - could probably refer you to a place that would charge little or no money to test and treat you and not inform your parent. Your doc might even do it him or her self. Just call and ask without leaving your name at first.

Call your county health department, and ask them what you can do. They should be able to direct you to a nearby free clinic, Planned Parenthood office, or some other way to get treated.

You can always use a fake name.

Wow...that happened to me as a teen. I went to planned parenthood and they took care of it without my going to my doctor. Are you sure its an STD? Are the bumps on the inside or outside? If they are inside, maybe you just need L-lysine. Mouth ulcers are caused from a vitamin deficiency and brought on by stress. It can cause those bumps. You can get L-lysine at the drugstore or grocery store. I don't know the laws today, or how close you are to your mom. Just tell her you have these bumps and you want to get rid of them.

If no ones home but you and your mom, offer to help her out with cooking (it's like the best enviorment. nice smells and pots and pans to block the knives) or maybe shopping since it's nice and public. Ease into the conversation with boyfriends and girlfriends. Then sex and worries about the STDs. Tell her things about STDs that most people don't know and then "suddenly" feel that you want to be tested. If she says no. Start research that will compel her to worry about your sex life. You'll probably get tested eventually.

Herpes....if it is Herpes, I'm sure your mom is bound to notice it one day. I don't know much about this stuff, but why don't you just straight-forward tell her that you think you have an STD. She will probably be upset at first, but I'm sure she will drag over to a doctor in no time.

well if it is herpes around your mouth, it maybe not sexually related, there is 2 types of herpes
type1: on appears around the mouth(at the junctions between the skin and the inner mucous membrane of mouth) and it happens to any one and is not sexually related

the other type:type2, appears on genitals and maybe on mouth from oral sex and thats the bad one

well i dont know if i'm talking about the right thing :)

I wouldnt tell your mom its not her business, just tell her that you are not feeling good or wait till you go for your pep smear an then tell the doc. but I dont think you should tell your mom to me thats TMI= to much info, but dont let anyone drink after you or eat after you, plus please wash your hands a lot and keep your mouth to yourself...u know what I mean...sorry to hear that.

My sons says just say I got a std, he is young (17)

but i would just ask for my annul exam and then let the doc know, but I wouldnt tell my mum, I wouldnt want her lookin at me crazy all the time.

I dunno about those characteristics, but you need to tell your Mom. I f you let whatever it is that you have contracted go without medical attention, you could be risking your chances at having children and just ruining your insides. Tell your Mom, she has/had sex and can give you advice/tips on how to take care of your most prized possession-----YOU!! Good luck and hurry!!
