I need to set-up 2 users on my XP computer. Both are to be Administraitors. I need to know how to customize each users account so that the other user will not see the programs I install on my username in there "All Programs" Folder.

AKA: I would like to set it up where both accounts are completly seperate, and programs or games a person installs on one username wont be visibile in the "All Programs" menu of the OTHER user.

Is this possible? If so... how? I tried to create a new user, but still all the programs I install on mine (user #1) still appears on (user #2) "All Programs" menu.

Please help!

You can customize your start menu by right clicking Start once and going to Properties then Customize. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any way to keep the programs from showing up in All Programs. Some of the newer software out there gives an option during the actual Setup of the program that asks who should be able to use the software (just "User" or "Anyone who uses this computer").

Go into the Control Panel (start button / settings / control panel) and double click the User icon. You can set up as many user IDs as you want there. Each will have their own desktop, start menu, etc. You can also set them to be either administrators or limited users. You can password protect the accounts if you want.

Whether a program installed will be visible to only one user or to all user is determined by the program's install file. Sometimes if you do a "custom" rather that a default or recommended install, you have a choice. Most of the time it just does what it does. But if it does install in the "all programs" of another user, you can go in under their ID and delete it from the menu.

Use a password on (user #1) and the programs will show up on user #2 but your programs should be protected. They should not show up on #2. Give it a try. And if that doesn't work, try the site below it give a lot of information.

If both users are to be admin status I don't think it is possible to hide apps from each other.

If you are both admins everything is open to both users. That's why it's called admin.
