The Devil was created, in my opinion, by the same "bunch" that created the Bible. If you want to believe the whole God thing, then I think, YES, you would have to assume that God also created evil.

The angels were created with choice as we were until Satan rebelled and was cast with a third of the angels to take dominion over the earth. To say that God created evil is accurate, but not in the way that we perceive evil - he created within us the abililty to recognize evil if exposed to it, which is why he told Adam and Eve not to eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil - that way they would not be exposed to it. But they did and we are, so we know the difference, but we choose to ignore God and his only begotten son,Jesus Christ, and reject what is our freely anyway. So who are we to question why evil or not or why love or not, when we continually refuse to accept what was ours to have in the first place?

Its the ying-yang thing, you can't have good with out bad and if God created the universe then he had to have created evil, if not at the very least he set it up so that it could exists. This is just my opinion though, who's to say what God thinks and why things are the way they are, but free will is the usual answer to this question. You have to study for yourself and make up your own mind. Peace be with you and God bless. :)

God didn't create evil but free will. He wanted people (and angels) to choose to follow and love Him. He didn't want to have millions of mindless followers 'forced' to love him.
Lucifer, the most beautiful angel and the angel of light, got jealous of God and His power and rebelled against God. For this Lucifer (Satan or the Devil), with the angels that sided with him, were kicked out of heaven. Ever since the beginning when Adam and Eve had knowledge of good (following God) and evil (following your fleshly desires) Satan has been trying to destroy people, who God loves so much, by deceiving them.

God did not create evil. A perfect angel who later resisted and slandered God gave in to pride and made himself the devil or Satan. The word "Satan" means resister.

Jehovah God creations were perfect. However, he gave his intelligent creations the gift of free will.
James 1:14-"But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. Then the desire, when it becomes fertile, gives birth to sin,in turn sin, when it has been accomplished brings forth death."
The angel who chose to become Satan(meaning resister)the Devil(meaning slanderer) misused that gift and his desire to receive the worship that belonged to God,grew inside of him until he acted upon it and sinned against God.He could have just as easily resisted the temptation and inclination to do what was wrong.
Jehovah God is perfect. He has no sin in Him.He is Holy
Jehovah has no evil in Him and therefore cannot create evil.

Satan thought he was better than God was. God created Lucifer to be a glorious angel with alot of power, but Satan turned on God and rebeled against the Lord. He tried to overthrow Heaven with 1/3rd of the angels on his side. If you want to know more about Satan its all right there in your bible. If you don't have one you can pick one up at your local church. They would probably offer you a free one.

The bible is a book of mythology. It adopted many myths over time and the devil of the bible changed with time, so if you are using the biblical version, there is no specific answer because it relies solely on which specific book of the bible to which you refer.
According to the Christian bible myths, Satan was in heaven with God. His exact status is subject to interpretation, but since he was there before anything was created, it appears he is another God equal to God.
Whatever his status, he came to earth, either through expulsion or agreement, with a "third of the hosts of heaven," "host" usually being interpreted to mean "evil spirits."
His only goal was to try to persuade people to stop worshiping God (the Father).
If one looks at the entire picture, Jesus of Nazareth is Satan and the "hosts" ("evil spirits") are embodied in every Christian that walks the earth. It is interesting that one third of the current population of the earth calls himself "Christian." (2 of 6 billion people)
People claim miracles convinced them Jesus is God when the bible clearly states that Satan will perform miracles for the sole purpose of deceiving people.
If one chooses to believe the bible, there is no other conclusion to be reached than Christians are the "third of the hosts of heaven" referred to in Revelations. And Jesus/Satan is their "God."
But, it is all nonsense, so it doesn't matter.
Hope this helps, the bottom line is that supernatural entities, Gods and Satans, do not exist in fact.

Who created the "devil" and "evil"? The same people who invented "god".
You can't claim to have a "solution" if there isn't a "problem" to be "solved". And you can't offer slavery dressed up as "comfort and safety" if there isn't anything to be afraid of.
