I hate the look of the plastic ones and I already have what I need to make to one. I think my son would like it.
Is a play kitchen for a boy, kinda gay? (no offence to gays)

I hate the plastic ones too. They don't look "real." I think your son would love for you to make him a play kitchen. Boys cook too! I teach preschool and we have a real child sized kitchen. The child really cook and prepare food there. They make salads, mini pizzas, pb&j sandwiches, quesadillas, cut up fruits and vegetables. This may be fun for your son. Check out these websites for some fun and real additions for his kitchen. Look in the practical life area. Have fun!

I think making a play kitchen would be cool. And those plastic ones are so expensive and not very nice. And I have a son and he likes playing with a play kitchen. So it's ok. My husband is a great cook so I am hoping that when my son grows up he will be too!

If you're talented enough or even if you can just get it basic, go for it and make one. Then you can make it the way you want to. As for boys playing in a kitchen, I wish my hubby had played in one. Maybe he would be a better cook. It's not gay. Some of the best cooks are men. Just think of all the women who wish their man would cook. This would be a great way to encourage him.

i think you have a wonderful idea of making your son a play kitchen. (and no it is not gay) we made our daughter a kitchen set and it turned out so cute! she loved it and so did her friends (some of them were boys that loved playing with it) we also built her a cute big barbie doll house and her own little vanity.

Yes, that's cool - more of us should be resourceful enough to make what we want instead of buying it. No, it isn't gay. Women aren't the only ones whose place is in the kitchen. Darn tootin' he'll like it, especially if you let him help...maybe he could do some of the painting?

oh my god no. what is wrong with a boy having a kitchen set. He may one day love to cook. and I'm sure his life partner will love that. I personally think anythink you make on your own is a lot better then the stuff they sell in the store.

I think it's wonderful. You sound like my hubby - he loves to make stuff (he makes action figures for a living) and he is always thinking of stuff he can build for our daughter-to-be. I think your son will appreciate it even more cuz one of his favorite people in the world did something special like that for him.

I think it is a great idea, because soon he will grow out of that sooner than you think. You won't regret wasting all that money.
