Quran is a Lecture in Arabic that was delivered to Muhammad through the Angel Jibreel from The Only True God of All the Worlds, Allah, Glorified and Exalted, and this Quran is the Final Revelation to mankind and Muhammad was the Final Messenger.
Many thousands of Muslims throughout the World have memorised the whole of the Quran and can recite the whole of it from memory.
There is, actually, no need for paper since The Quran is not a paper, yet much of what you see in the English translation of the Quran, actually, is not Quran but mainly a misunderstanding of the Quran, while the Arabic remains intact and original and is the Purity of the Quran, but the translators and all Islamic websites have distorted the Quran with their false translations and misunderstandings.
The Quran is the confirmation of all Scripture that came before it, so much so that it confirms the Truth that has been distorted or lost in corrupt Scripture.
The Quran states that the Messiah, Isa ibn Mariam, was not crucified but remains a trick to those who say he was and all that they add to this trick amount to more trickery.
The Bible can be examined to show that it is shouting to mankind that the Messiah or Christ was declared innocent and set free by the Romans who crucified two thieves on the Passover and the Sabbath in order to complete the curse that was put on the Children of Israel by the Christ.
The failure of the United Nations and the remaining super power to make peace in the Middle East, and the fact that this state of War involves the Christians and the Muslims and Israel, who all lay claim to Christ one way or another, is evidence of the curse on the Promised Land and the Children of Israel.
Christians have made the crucified Jesus (King of the Jews of two crosses borne by two thieves) their God in a Trinity, while the Children of Israel deny the Christ has come and gone, and the Muslims, who have the Truth in the Scripture, name Isa al Masih as the Jesus in the translations of the Quran, falsely of course, and they too claim, like the Christians, that he is to return, in following Greek Pagan worship.
The Quran definitely IS NOT paper or a waste of paper.

Why ask a question like this? The Quran is a holy and sacred text that should be treated with reverence and respect just like the bible should. Weather you are a believer of Islam or not, there are many who are in believe in the truths contained in the Quran. I personally am Christian, but have read English versions of the Quran and do believe it is sacred and Holy, I just choose to follow the teachings of the bible. Bigotry like this question is why there is so much hatred in the world today.

No book is a waste of paper. It is the relegious book of Islam. It is on the same level as the Old Testament for the Jews and the Old and New Testaments for the Christians. As for the reverance it is afforded, That is subjective to your own personal belief. I, Personally, do not see justification in Muslims getting as upset about the mistreatment of the Koran as they do. When have you ever heard of a christian getting nearly as upset about the mistreatment of the Bible? or a Jew the mistreatment of the Torah? Neither is likely to call for the beheading of the perpitrators unlike those who follow Islam, the religion of "peace" as they would like to say.
