Hey, I did the same thing 3 years ago, and he is the most wonderful man under the sun. We got married, we love each other to death...Cindrella story...your heart has to tell you, this is the ONE. If you don't know her by now, you will never know and this might not be a nice experience...you have to have that 6th sense...but just as everyone says...you need a neutral ground...

i see a lot of people saying dont meet her, watch the news, etc etc.. but thats kind of pushing it beyond... bad things have been happening on dates a lot longer than the internet has been around!

but there are ways that you should keep yourself 'safe', man or woman, and a main one is to meet in a public place. you say you are staying at her house i believe, but you should have a backup plan in case things dont go well when you meet. its like any kind of date really - going out for the first time with anyone, online or not, you never know what to expect or if you will like each other. so i would try to plan having somewhere else to stay just in case.

i know LOTS of couples that first met on the internet and they are married, have kids, etc. its not all horror stories - the media only shows the bad ones cos thats more exciting news than boring love stories eh? its a lot more common than people realise! i know people that met and lived overseas and had to endure long distances like that and are now married with children and very happy.... but starting off in ANY relationship you should have some caution and meet in public and have back up plans in case things go wrong.

Take it from someone that has been there. Make sure you ask to meet them in a public place. Where a different outfit than what you tell her you are going to wear so if you don't like what you see you know how do run without them even knowing. Last thing make sure you have spent alot of time talking to them on the phone so you can get an idea about their personality. Good Luck

If you want to met with someone you met online, do it in a crowded public place. Do not leave with the person, no matter how great you hit it off. If possible, bring a friend with you. They don't have to sit with you, just be close by... just in case.

Question - You wrote "i will be staying out her house". Does this mean you will be staying "out of" her house.. as in you do not plan to go inside her house. OR... did you mean you will be staying "out at" her house? Which is a terrible idea to stay at the home of someone you have never met. DON'T DO THAT!!

You've never met her before and you're going to stay at her house? Not a really good idea because YOU DON'T KNOW HER. She could be setting you up to be robbed, sexually assaulted, anything. Be smart and meet her for lunch someplace public.

Assuming that you are over 18 years of age, I'd say go for it. Sure, chances are it will be a disappointment, but it does work out for some people. I have two people in my family who have married internet loves...one of which was from another continent! GOOD LUCK...
