it's because he likes you a lot and he don't want to say the wrong thing to embarrass himself...do something crazy in front of him or just find something to make him feel a little more comfortable with himself and not so nervous around you...

He appears that he knows how to separate his behavior with his friends from his behavior with you, which is not a bad thing. My fiancee is very loud and rowdy when he is out and different when we are home together and I appreciate it.
Ask him and see what he says.

well i kind of think that its b/c he likes you. i just recently got involved into a relationship b/c of those silent moments and talks with a boy. i had no idea he liked me before till the day that we talked on the couch for HOURS. his friends told me that he's never quiet and still but he was when we were together.

He is just unsure of how to act around you. He respects you, so he doesnt want to be, like, mean or anything. He might have a hard time opening up and acting natural. So just be comfortable around him and he'll loosen up.

my husband acts differently when hes around his friends. Its the same with anybody i think when they are around their good friends. Hes still himself but you see him laugh more and stuff like that hes not like that with me. Theres just a difference between your wife/ husband/bf/gf and your friends. In my opinion!

Politely, just ask him this question directly. Guys LIKE DIRECTNESS. He will appreciate it. Do not expect an immediate answer, he may not know. Just ask him to look: and when he has an anwer tell you.
