why is it that the KKK got/get to assemble and kill black people and other minorities and most of the time they didn't get banned for using hate words or didn't get what they deserved when ever they took an innocent person's life and when the Black Panther Party assembled and when civil activist marched they were either arrested, banned, or beaten/killed! and white people ask why we complain about slavery and what happened during the civil rights days and have the nerve to stereotype black people and other minorites when they don't realize that they are the ones with the faults. Don't get me wrong, I Know that there are white people out there that are decent and don't deserve to be catigorized with the ones who not, and i am not judging the whole white race, I just want to know why some of those people think that, and they have the nerve to say we are getting everything, when what us black people or minorities are really asking for is to be looked upon as humans and not MINORITES!

Life has changed, thankfully, since KKK days.
I grew up with my 6th grade class being the only one who's Dad was not in the KKK. They did not like us a lot. We had one black student & after poisining his well 3 times, they moved. I often ate lunch with him & we were both called names. My parents raised me well & without bigotry. Everyone does not get that benefit.
Now to get arrested you must defy or break the law. In my county we have as many black judges as whites, so little favoritism is show. It is not perfect in our treatment of black but our area is trying hard. It is a very affluent & educated area. (11 universities & some of the biggest corporations in US)

Do you know that authorities in florida and other states are still investigating crimes against blacks that took place in the sixties.
You need to let it go now.
If you don't want to be considered minorities any longer, petition the government to stop the practice of collecting racial information on job applications, ask them to do away with minority enterprise zones, minority business loans, grants to disadvantaged students, and other minority based social services.
I am not racist, never been in the KKK, don't know anybody in the KKK, don't approve of the KKK or their beliefs. Nor do I believe in the Black Panthers or what they stand for.
But I do have concerns as to why blacks keep blameing whites for their problems. If the government would stop the social programs, I am sure there would rioting in the streets. If blacks want the feeling of true equality, then It seems that there needs to be revolution in the black community. Change starts at home.
I am almost afraid to say anything else, because I am sure I would be perceived as a racist.
Good luck in trying to get a fair answer on this board.
Oh, I have posted this link earlier, about the slave trade and how many of your ancestors were actually sent to Mexico. So, it wasn't just whites who had black conscripts, brown people had them also. Please read it.

That is so funny to me. I grew up after all that was over, but I remember hearing over and over how neo-Nazis and KKK were NOT allowed to march or were confined to specific areas that would never have been allowed if it had been a minority rights group marching.

Mind you, I do know the difference between a hate message and a legitimate political stance, but what you say brings back my memories of that.

I am not actually sure what your question is, reading it over.

I'd be happy not to look on blacks as minorities. The blacks in my life have equal economic power to the whites. However, affirmative action would then disappear. From some other things you say, I am not sure that is really what you want.

The KKK is pretty much dead. There are white supremacists still, but they don't wear the white robes and belong to the silent organization anymore. They aren't as showy as they used to be. In most states where the KKK was active, they were active because people were scared of them. Not just black people, but white people as well. They were a lot like bullies in the towns where they did business. As a result, they bullied their way into police bureaus, sheriff's offices, and state and local governments. They were dangerous people.

Education and access have gotten much better in the rural South than it was in the early to middle 1960's. Also, a racist would show up in any crowd the minute he opened his mouth.

People stereotype black people all the time. Even movies now stereotype black people. It sells movies to stereotype people.

I agree with you that it is terrible social policy, but people stereotype Latinos as Mexican wetbacks, too. And people stereotype Middle Eastern people as terrorists, too.

Stinking thinking is hard to live with. But this world is full of stinkin' thinkers. There are stupid people everywhere. Maybe someday they will get it. Maybe they won't. But as time goes on, stinkin' thinkin' activists die out and the world ends up getting closer and closer to getting smarter.

George Lincoln Rockwell's American Nazi Party and the KKK are still a threat to clear thinking everywhere, but we got their number a long time ago.

We can't rest easy, but we don't have to be afraid, either.

I am white, and I do know blacks that play the race card, however I know whites that I wouldn't trust to come in my house. So in answer to your question I think that everybody is a bit raciest and I mean blacks and whites and just about everybody else. I don't like the KKK and what they stand for as they are extreme and the black panthers and Bobby Seale was just as bad the other way. Both are extreme. Neither is better then the other though.

The people who make these complaints against other races having any kind of benefits is just a cry in the dark.
The government has put in place these benefits because it was the will of the majority, it is indeed unfortunate that the events of the past occured but we can not change the past, we can only learn from it to improve our future, and to hold to account most people for the mistakes of the past is sure to cause more dispair rather than hope.

What does it matter? There's racism on every side blacks hating hispanics & vice-versa, jews hating blacks & vice-versa, you get the picture.
But there seems to be 1 thing that everyone is forgetting, when we come into this world as babes, in the hospital we lie side by side no matter what our race. And in our final resting places the same applies, what does it matter then?

Everyone has the right to assemble. No one has the right to kill people. It seems you are dwelling one the past where such atrocities did take place.
