TO FULFILL JOHN THE BAPTIST'S MINISTRY. UNDER THE LAW OF MOSES.
JESUS HIMSELF WHILE ON EARTH, LIVED UNDER THE LAW OF MOSES. JESUS HIMSELF SAID: "THE NEW AGE TO COME"......THAT WAS THE CHRISTIAN AGE. THE CHRISTIAN AGE DID NOT START UNTIL ACTS.CH.2:38 THE DAY OF PENTECOST. "THE HOLY SPIRIT FELL UPON THEM".. THAT STARTED THE CHRISTIAN AGE. JESUS PROCLAIMED, HE WOULD SEND "THE HELPER".

But in the same verse of Mat 3:11 it states that the one coming after him is greater than he is. When he is mentioning here about repentence you can compare it with Acts 19:4 where it states that "he baptised in symbol of repentence, telling people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus." And Mark 1:4 states that he "turned up in the wilderness, preaching baptism [in symbol] of repentance for forgiveness of sins" Of course it didn't refer to Jesus repenting sins because he was not guilty of any type of sin. (Heb. 4:15)
In the gospels it gives an explanation of what purpose his baptism had. His baptism made him become the actual Messiah or annointed one by God. While being annointed by the holy spirit after his baptism,(Luke 3:22, Mat 3:16) he would set off a do God's will of preaching (Luc 4:16-21) and he was here commisioned as God's promised king (Luc 1:32, 33; Heb 1:8, 9) of a kingdom not belonging to this world. There is more to expand but this is in a nutshell.
Jesus did not consider himself sinless because he admitted himself, no one else is good, except for God. Jesus knew what was the correct way, but here we all could see the type of man he really was. He was humble and not egotistical, he didn't come here for people to glorify him, just God (Mat. 20:28) But you have to keep in mind that Jesus is the SON of God, NOT God himself. Of course, it would not make sense if Jesus here was considering himself sinless and stating that God is the only good being. If he was God, then this passage would read completely different.
There is always more to expand but I suggest that If you really want to know the truth, investigate who gives you full and satisfactory answers. The Bible is the word of God, simple as that, so if you trust in God then you will trust what his word, for us, has to say. Always compare with your Bible.

Your problem lies in your lack of understanding of the Scriptures.
At Mark 10:18 and Luke 18:19,Jesus quite easily could have said,"Yes, I am Good".But he didn't brag about himself.Rather he gave all praise to his Father.Jesus
repeatedly stressed that he could do nothing of his own initiative. He never missed an opportunity to praise and magnify his Father's holy name.
Jesus was born free of sin,and his baptism was unique to him alone. His baptism testified to his presenting himself to do his Father's will.(Compare Heb.10:5-9).
John the Baptist baptised Jews as a symbol of their repentence of sin against God's law covenant..
The Bible has been written under Jehovah God's direction. It contains no lies, only counsel and guidance for those who want to read and learn and live by its moral, upright standards.
Jehovah's Witnesses dedicate themselves to the doing of God's will. They are the only religion that fully understand the Holy Scriptures because they are God's people(Isa.43:10).If you went to your local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, someone there would be only too happy to answer any questions you may have and even conduct a free home bible study with you to help you understand God's Word more fully.
Christendom is to blame for all the misconceptions and lies.Jesus called the religious leaders of his day, hypocrites because" they had made the word of God invalid because of all their traditions."
The same applies today to the churches of Christendom. They too have made God's word invalid through the lies and man made doctrines and ceremonies.
Give Jehovah's Witnesses a chance to show you the wonderful truths found in God's Word. You have nothing to loose and everything to gain.

When Jesus presented himself to John for water baptism, this obviously was not in symbol of repentance, for Jesus was sinless and no violator of the Law covenant under which he had been born. John, knowing this, hesitated to baptize Jesus, but complied with his request on being told: “Let it be, this time, for in that way it is suitable for us to carry out all that is righteous.” (Matthew 3:13-17) What did he mean?
Jesus was acting in harmony with the prophecy concerning him at Psalm 40:7, 8: “In view of that, I said: ‘Here I have come, in the roll of the book it being written about me. To do your will, O my God, I have delighted.’” In Hebrews 10:5-10 that prophecy is applied to Jesus Christ, since, in Jesus’ case, God did not want sacrifices that were offered in line with the Mosaic Law covenant, but wanted as a sacrifice the perfect human body that God had prepared for his Son to be sacrificed as the basis for a new covenant. So when getting baptized, Jesus was not dedicating himself to God, for he was already a member of a dedicated nation and, being sinless, needed no conversion. (Hebrews 7:26) Rather, his baptism was a symbol of the presenting of himself to his heavenly Father to do His further will. And in this respect Jesus set a pattern for the baptism of his disciples.

no church i have ever attended was embarrassed by john baptizing JESUS. where did you get such an idea?
john the baptist was the last of the old prophets and forerunner of CHRIST. JESUS set the example for the rest of us. HE never asks us to do anything that HE was not willing to do.
HIS baptism officially marked the beginning of HIS public ministry.
somehow, i think you.ve already reached your conclusions, anyway. are you arguing with yourself or GOD'S word. the devil is the author of confusion. you can rid yourself of him by using the power in the name of YESHUA!
be honest with yourself, just how much of GOD'S WORD have you actually read with understanding? one or two verses just won't get the job done!

you might understand it more if you sincerely open yourself up to the holy spirit without witch no one can truely understand God`s word! you might also try studying under the guidance of a bible scholar who knows what the intire word says and understands what they`re reading!
Jesus was making himself an example of what man was to do in obedience to God`s instruction!
have you never heard of a parent going through some lesson or situation they personally did not need in order to demonstrate the proper action to be taken by their child? same principle!
maybe you should stop looking so hard for nonexistant contradictions and spend that energy finding some of the many confirmations God shows us in his word!!!!!
ask his holy spirit to open your spiritual eyes
and be sincere! HE WILL!!!!!!!

to my mind he just did not want to be different than the rest that were being baptized. he wanted to show to us that he is one of us.the rest is bubbles.now, why for the rest to be baptized? apparently john was really kicking the local authorities with his preaching, and jesus thought there was some point there. he stated the difference between the ones that took the farisays side and the ones that took the opposite one. he took the opposite one.
