Fortunately for those who really want to know the truth, Matthew made a colossal blunder later in his gospel which leaves no doubt at all as to which of the above possibilities is true. His blunder involves what is known as Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem riding on a donkey (if you believe Mark, Luke or John) or riding on two donkeys (if you believe Matthew). In Matthew 21:1-7, two animals are mentioned in three of the verses, so this cannot be explained away as a copying error. And Matthew has Jesus riding on both animals at the same time, for verse 7 literally says, "on them he sat."
Why does Matthew have Jesus riding on two donkeys at the same time? Because he misread Zechariah 9:9 which reads in part, "mounted on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey."
Anyone familiar with Old Testament Hebrew would know that the word translated "and" in this passage does not indicate another animal but is used in the sense of "even" (which is used in many translations)for emphasis

I wouldn't put it past him to do so. It's like a business. You do what you have to do to make your product sell........Salvation is what everyone wants...

Apparently, everyone who actually saw Jesus ride into Jerusalem that day obviously must never have seen the scriptures that were written within their lifetime and distributed widely. If they had, surely they would have said, "Hey wait, it didn't happen that way at all!"

Apparently this argument has never ever been considered by the multitude of learned scholars over the past 2000 years. If it had, then surely the entire Bible would have been thrown out as useless by educated Christians.

Truly you are a pioneer. Thank God for your insight.

This is the best you got? Please, go scoff somewhere else where ignorant people fall for your misguided interpretations.

Matthew does not say that in the KJV so I don't know what you're talking about.
Second of all, this is supposed to prove what? That you're a scoffer? Congratulations!! You don't believe in God. Wear a medal.

So, you pay attention to finite details that you're misunderstanding and the whole big picture goes right over your head.
You should look up the scripture that talks about straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel. You've just personified that statement.

Each gospel was written by a man inspired of God to a very direct audience. Now if you were writing the same story description of a horse to a people who were highly considered illiterate and outcast how would you describe that horse? then how would you describe that horse to the highly literate who owned horses? and then how would you describe that horse to someone who had never even heard of a horse? and then how would you describe it if you were a veterinarian? This is how God used the scriptures to reach all people, from the perspectives of all people to all people. If we become so hung up over the details of every dot and tittle, then we have completely overlooked the purpose of Jesus Christ and are pious in our righteousness and leading others away from Christ and confusing those who may have otherwise been persuaded. When I stand before Christ on judgement day, I don't want him to accuse me of having picked apart what he deemed appropriate, I want him to accuse me of not sharing enough of the gospel.

I don't think I would blame any one person for the inconsistencies and"blunders" in the Bible. The amount of changes and rewritings it has been through has turned the book of fiction into the book of lies.
