It seems that way, but we will have to just wait and see. Remember that there are still a lot of good people in America--some very true Christians. Only God knows the right timing for THE END and the SECOND COMING.

We won't know until it's breathing down our necks. Remember, during terrible times in the past, people have often thought that it was the last days. World War I, II, all those people that suffered under Hitler, then Stalin, then others. I agree that we should pray that God will have mercy on us, through Jesus Christ. But only the Father knows when He will send Jesus back.

yes we are already living on the edge.
People may wonder why, if God exists, He doesn’t wave a magic wand and fix things, making or at least influencing everyone so that they do exactly what they ‘should’ do. But God never takes away anyone’s freedom of choice. God’s wisdom is to recognize and respect each soul’s individual identity, freedom and inherent goodness. God shares knowledge – a profound understanding of the dualities and dilemmas of love and hatred, happiness and sorrow, victory and defeat, etc. – but He does not make our choices for us. The soul is free to choose ‘to be or not to be’, ‘to love or not to love’. God’s love strengthens the soul’s will to free itself from the distresses caused by vices such as selfish desire, anger, fear, ego and attachment. God’s power helps the soul to recognize its highest potential and to aim for perfection by practising the art of simple living and high thinking. Such practice by a significant number of souls eventually brings about positive change in the whole of humanity.

During the 1950's, a man named Garner Ted Armstrong had a radio program. He used his air time to show how the bible guaranteed through prophecy that the "Cold War" would end in Armageddon and that horrific event was imminent (with ten - fifteen years).
Given the fact I"ve heard about the "end times" and "Armageddon" being "imminent" for over fifty years, it doesn't seem to me we are any nearer than we were fifty years ago.
The "Cold War" was a lot more threatening that this stupid and trivial "war on terror."

Christians and Jews have been saying that for thousands of years, people during WWII thought Hitler was the antichrsit, early Christians thought Nero was. Fact is, there is not going to be a antichrist, but people will keep waiting i guess.

You are absolutely right, but then my great-grandmother of whom I had the great pleasure of knowing until I was 23 years of age, said the same things of her times, and she said her grandparents said the same things of their times, and if we read the scriptures, they were saying the same things of their times. So, all we can really do is ask that God have mercy on our nation, our nation see its sin the way God does, and that we as a nation repent, lest his judgment fall as harshly on us as it has on other nations in history past.

For a follower of a religion that is supposed to preach love, forgiveness, and hope, you sure are a negative guy. I hope whatever is going wrong in your life gets fixed.
