There are a TON of freebies online that I'm 100% sure are very legit and good. I'd stay away from Limewire if you can download the program for free at a trusted website. Checkout http://www.filehippo.com
Download Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D (The great thing about these 2 is that one finds what the other one does not). Also get Windows Defender Beta 2. The first two have to be ran manually. Windows Defender works like anti-virus. It constantly monitors for spyware trying to get into your computer and automatically runs a scheduled scan whenever you choose.
Goodluck!

Spyware you will have to know your files you are going to delete,,,,if you delete the wrong files after running the spyware you could mess up some programs
ad-aware does not delete your files with the free version
it seems to only delete the cookies you have gotten while searching.,,although you will need to remove these files after running the program and it's so easy..
it is very safe and works very well.
If you are surfing alot this is the program you want to run everyday

Most of the adware/spyware programs infect your PC so that you'll have to buy their product. Go to Limewire.com and download Norton Anti Virus. This will detect and destroy all of the adware/spyware and all viruses to ensure complete safety of your PC.

Ad-Aware is the best, no doubt. Not only is the program free, but it also offers free updates. With almost all others, you have to pay for update services.

if you go to download.com they have a whole antispyware section of programs, and all the ones that I have tried work pretty good, but some are just trials.
