Be firm. Say "I want to enjoy what I do. I want to be an OB/GYN because (put reasons here). I know that it isn't what you planned, but I still want you to be proud of me."
It's better for them to be angry at you for a bit than to be miserable for your whole life.
good luck!

Tell them that you appreciate them giving you suggestions, but you need to experience things for yourself and decide based on your own experiences what you need to do. In the end, once you actually embark on your career path after your education, your parents will matter very little, but you will have to work at it every day. Shouldn't you decide?

You need to chose the career you want. After all, you'll be the one doing it. Your parents will be proud of you.

Be honest with them about what you really want to do with your life and they should be happy, understanding and support you even if it isn't what THEY want you to do. You should do what YOU want because it is your mind, your time, energy and livelyhood!
