I'll try to keep it short.
Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Joseph and Mary went to register their names under the order of the Romans, as it was predicted in the Bible that Jesus will be born in Bethlehem. Shortly after his birth, they had to run to Egypt to protect Jesus's life, for it was ordered that every first born boy to be killed, that included Jesus. A few years later, they went back, and they lived in the city Nazareth, hence the name Jesus of Nazareth.
No contradictions. They moved to Egypt not to Nazareth to protect his life. If they didn't do that, you and I would have had nothing to be chatting about, at least in the religion section. Think about it.
Don't worry about it, our religion stood the worst. Christians were feed to the lions for believing in Christ, at a certain time it was forbidden to be even a Christian, and now, many wants to show the lies that is supposedly in the Bible. Go ahead, do your best, or your worse! maybe we both can end up learning from each others. You don't have to be a Christian, and I don't have to stop being one, but we at the very least at will end up respecting each others.

You don't have to devote your life to Christ or be a Christian, but why try to prove my belief wrong. Why does it bother you so much that I believe. I could care less if you do or not. I'll pray for you just the same cause I love u and want the best for u. Christianity and religion is about faith. You believe in that you can't see or touch because u know it there you feel it. You don't quantify it or qualify it, you simply believe and put your faith that God's will will be done if you believe.
Jesus was born in Bethlehem. The Romans were like every other governing unit, power crazy and working for their own interest. It really matters very little in the big picture, Jesus's birth is the great thing.

Dear Atheist4Choice,
I am curious about what makes you think that Christianity cannot stand up to these questions?
In response to your questions:
1. Jesus was born in Bethlehem. The Matthew and Luke accounts are not mutually exclusive.
2. The Romans did have censuses where people had to travel to specific cities to be counted.
Cordially,
John

What is absurd to you may not have been to the Romans 2,000 years ago. I can't see your point of Matthew and Luke in contradiction, I don't see why they couldn't leave Nazareth and travel to Bethlehem where Jesus was born, then flee to Egypt as the Bible says, and then return to Nazareth two years later. It seems really clear and simple to me

He was born in Bethlehem. It was prophesied that he would be and even though it might seem as a nightmare to us, only one member of a clan had to go for the census, Jospeh chose to take Mary his espoused wife, because of all the gossipy ole' biddies in town and even though the journey was a hard one, they believed the prophets of old and knew they would go and it would be there that the would give birth to the only begotten son of God as prophesied in the city of Bethlehem. Sometimes you have to use a little history and a little common sense too, you know! And being a Christian isn't a religion - it's a relationship and I wouldn't ask anyone to devote their life to a religious lie, but I would urge all to devote their life to Jesus Christ the only begotten son of God, as it is a relationship that cannot have any humanly explainable terms, only spiritual ones!

The mythical "jeebus" was allegedly born in Bethlehem, which existed 2000 years ago.
The mythical "jeebus" also allegedly lived in Nazareth, which DID NOT exist 2000 years ago (it is less than 1800 years old). Nazareth did exist, however at the time the catholic enclave in Rome made up the bible from scraps of various fairy tales....

Why did they choose to do such a ridiculous way of census to just collect taxes? I will never know, but they did. If you read Matt 2:1 it says that Jesus was born in Bethlehem.
If people want to take things out of context to prove their way then that is their choice and there is no trying to prove the Bible correct with these.

1) Bethlehem.
2) Stands up just fine. Your argument is pretty screwy, though.

why are you protesting about Christianity here? Please, do it somewhere else. This isn't a place to make enemies. Keep your opinions to yourself.
Even if Christianity is fake [which I highly doubt] what's wrong with it? It's promoting peace and unity among your fellow man. It helps us connect with other people and help as many as people as possible.
I'm not trying to convert you or anything, I'm just saying. It's just promoting peace/unity.
-Best of Luck
