Unless you have some deadly disease, and plan to die this year, you don't need to go right now. Don't worry it will be a while before California falls off into the Pacific.
Going debt for vacation, is dangerous. Your credit card company is doing you a favor!
Tips on how to get there faster:
Pick up a little part time job, and deposit all of the money you make into a savings account.
Take a friend and split the cost.
Find a family with kids, and go as the babysitter. May not be the best vacation, but at least it would be free.
Find a job that requires you go there for either business or training.
Have any special knowledge, find a conference and be a speaker. (I got to enjoy Vegas for a week with this one)
Dreams do come true, and I'm sure you will get there. For me it was Paris, it took many years, but last spring I did it, and it was everything I dreamed it would be.

Plan your work and work your plan - what do you do for a living and do you maintain a budget - first off it is not a good idea to go into more debt to take a vacation - there is a reason why you have no room on the credit card and why your credit score is low - which by the way I wouldn't advertize! You need to sit down and plan a working budget based on your income vs outgo - get that credit card paid off and cut it in half! Then take whatever you were paying on it and set that aside for the vacation fund - research your vacation - plan it - find out the cost of each item you'd like to do - come up with a dollar figure and start saving - when you get the cash - go for it - but don't go into more debt - you won't enjoy the vacation and you will regret it when the bills start rolling in! Good Luck and God Bless

I have to agree with most of the listers. I just got out of massive debt myself, and its not worth going into in the first place. Save up money so that you can truly enjoy a nice vacation and not feel guilty or have to literally pay for it later. In the meantime, take a mini vacation near where you are! Go online and find a historic site, a theme park, anything near you (within 1 days driving distance so you can go have fun and drive home all in one day) that you've never seen or been to before. Everyone needs a little vacation now and then. Save the big one for when you have the funds to go. :)

Just be patient. I agree with some of the other answers. Save up some money and just take your time in planning. You can actually make your planning stage of this upcoming trip exciting!
Look around on the internet, in magazines and other sources and find any and everything you can about Los Angeles. You can get a scrapbook and list by categories the different things you would like to to when you get here. Go out and get stickers related to "Hollywood", "Los Angeles", etc. You can find all kinds of glamorous items that would make your scrapbook really nice.
Start planning your perfect trip now by looking at the various places you would like to visit once out here. Be sure to include amusement parks, museums, night clubs, etc. This will definitely keep you busy.
Anyways, I hope this helps with your anxiety for visiting the Golden State!

Sometimes dreams have to wait. Work to raise the cash first.

American express used to have a program similar to what you're asking for. We had to use it once for a funeral emergency.
