I love singing... I want to be a singer before I'm 13 but a) my parents don't know and I'm afraid they will laugh or get mad and b) can't find a manager and someone to sign me. The only people who know are 2 of my best friends. HELP!!!

I think you should try out for theatre. Yeah you dance also but singing is a big part of theatre. just try out for the next show and see what happens! If you don't get the best part at first, don't give up. There are people there that have bee doing theatre for years so theyll probably get the lead parts. But if you sing loud and show that you're not shy, trust me, youll get a great part. You could get a solo and that would be a great way to start. Showing the community your talents. If that goes well, you should try out for american Idol when you turn 16. And about your parents, they won't laugh. Theyll encurage you to do it and to not be shy. Good luck!

The only thing you can do, is sing in choirs, etc, school or church.
Your parents won't laugh, unless you sing badly.
If they have a music teacher, ask them if they know of a singing coach, that could help you improve your singing.
If you are good, just keep doing it, go to different groups, and sing for them. It may take time, but eventually, if your good, you will be recognized and will find a manager.

dont expect somebody to come for signing you up you have to do the efforts so heres the idea find some ads in the newspaper that some local band needs some instrument players. just call them and say if they want to try you with your singing may be if ur luck favours you they will hire you and if u get hired

or you can start singing in the church thats another good idea. or find some social ceremonies where they want someone to sing. BELIEVE ON YOURSELF AND DONT BE ASHAMED. JUST GO AND SING IT UP. IF ANY OF THESE WORK CONTACT ME

tell your parents: I enjoy singing and I think that I am good at it. I would like to practice it. Can I please join (say your local church/school chior)?

they wont laugh. If you can afford it, try finding a performing arts camp to go to or find a voice teacher. Try asking a high school music teacher if they have any talented students that can help you in exchange for small payment or service hour requirements.

practice makes perfect. the reason britney spears is famous is because she got exposure. Get involved in drama (musicals) or choirs. That's how talent is discovered and it builds your resume as well.

good luck!

join community theater!!! and sorry but an agent is for modeling and acting- record deals are pointless @ 13- and the whole singing thing is not at all glamorous- waking up @ 5:30 every morning, belting your voice out, always feeling sore and overworked- but hey if that's what u want, get some lessons!

The number one thing to get over your fear of singing in front of people is to just do it. I would suggest talking to the music teacher at your school, perhaps sing for him or her and see what he or she recommends. The teacher may be able to help find someone to coach you if you need it, and may be able to recommend people you should talk to about getting started in the music business. First and foremost though, you need to talk to your parents. Hopefully they will support you and maybe bringing them together with the music teacher can provide a way to get everything rolling. Hope this helps.

first of all the best singers start out at your age and sometimes even younger... listen, don't hide your talent and your dreams from any one... sing a song to your parents and if they don't like it, explain to them this is your dream and maybe if they know how you feel that they may send you to get some voice lessons... don't give up keep your dream alive.... good luck to ya and someday you will be a star...

You may have your best fans in your parents. If you can't get past them, what will you do if other people laugh? It's important to develop a good sense of self esteem if you are going to be a performer. Stand up! Tell your parents. You aren't going anywhere without their legal signatures and support.

Well...you know that song "Whistle While You Work"? How about doin' some chore at home, during which (as planned!) you just cut loose singin' so Mom and the Popster listen up? Hey, you're at home, you've got a right to sing there.

It's never too early to start singing lessons, and you can join choirs and youth theatre companies as well. Use your voice as much as you can. If you want people to hear you enter competitions.
