if he has secured financing and been accepted then all that is REQUIRED is a good attitude and NO FELONIES! right now the trucking industry is begging for warm bodies,1 or 2 speeding tickets can be overlooked by most of todays carriers-but felonies cannot and will not be tolerated-most of the reasons have to do with bonding and insurance.remember your cargo is but one part of the deal-theft dosent scare trucking companies LAWYERS scare the u no whut out of truckers and trucking companies alike-lol.also felons cannot go into canada (bet you did not know that?).now if the question you want to ask is, how can your brother get a "CLASS A CDL" without being ripped off by some of the diploma mills that pass for truck driving schools ? first contact ALL of the top 4 carriers-SCHNEIDER-J.B HUNT-SWIFT-WERNER.ALL 4 OF THOSE OUTFITS HAVE 1O,OOO TRACTORS EACH!!then call your state job service and ask abot JTEP (SAY JAY-TEP),this is a federal program that is regional and will PAY ALL YOUR TUITION and some food and rent money-this is a cool program because it is not a loan or anything that locks you into one company-there are many roads to yor CDL -they don't have to be toll roads ,just make sure they arn't DIRT ROADS either-good luck and godspeed

It rather depends upon you unique state/province legislation. I reside in Illinois and right here you wish to have just a average license (D) to force small supply vans. Larger supply vans, buses, or any hauling of passengers takes a category C, using a fireplace truck sized car takes a B, and entire 18 wheelers take a CDL (A). Here they do not care when you have had courses or no longer, simplest that you just move the scan within the correct measurement truck for the license you wish.
