OH MY GOD! I LOVE THE PITTIES! I have 2 and I think they r the best breed. They are my "furry children" and would do anything for them. YEAH ANOTHER PIT BULL LOVER! I am so happy! Also "All dogs can bite, not just pit bulls" If u want a pit bull 2 be sweet they will be sweet 2 their fullest potential! It just really sucks that they have such a bad rap.

Yes. I agree that an animal is only as good as its owner. The pitbull is known to be a loving dog, especially with children. The problem is, when they do bite it is much worse than a normal dog's bite because of their powerful locking jaws. This gives them a bad reputation along with the fact that so many people choose to breed them to fight and be violent. People are ignorant and only hear what they want to hear. If they knew the whole story these animals wouldn't have such a horrible reputation.

I am now the proud owner of a a red nose, brindle buckskin pit bull. And, he IS a pit bull, NOT a Staffy or Am Staff. Apparently, he was not "mean enough", and got tossed from a moving car on the highway. Sweetest dog in the world. My husband fell in love the minute I brought him home, so, even though I rescue and re home pit breeds, "Tigger" will be staying!
We named him Tigger because he fit the song so well, and, just like the character, gets so excited he can't help bouncing. He needs some training, which has started, but we love him!!

I own one. And to the guy who said a pit killed someone a Pekingese killed a six week old baby, a lab killed a 5 year old and a German Shepperd eat his owners 6 month old baby. Dogs, all dogs have a wild side to them and if you don't train them you are the boss they are dangerous. My pit is a trained companion dog for me. He goes out all the time with me ,rides the bus and walks in the store with me. He is trained. Pit bulls are police dogs, drug dogs, they are used as therapy dogs and rescue dogs. If you are hurt and buried in rubble would you care that the dog that saved you was a pit bull. 4 pits work ground 0, they helped find the crashed shuttle. Yes there as been pits that have attacked mauled and even killed people. But so as other breeds. My uncle breed and trained blood hounds, coon dogs
and fox hounds for years. The last 8 years of his life he went to breeding pit bulls and training them. He said he wished he had done it earlier because how great hey were. He did not have one of his pits turn on anyone and his son and grandson as taken over and non of theirs as turned that covers over 500 dogs. It was his grandson that used the pits in 9/11

my husband and I have one and the only reason we got him, is the local pound was getting ready to eliminate him and he was the only dog that didn't bark incessantly at us but on the other hand make no mistake: these dogs are hard to handle!!!! They also have a bad rap so it doesn't matter who's fault it is when another dog is involved, it will be your dog who gets put under, thanks to the press. I definitely would never let the dog ever ever get loose! If you are responsible with your Pit Bulls, you can have wonderful lasting relationships with them. Hopefully you have someone who is strong mentally and physically because these dogs are notably known to want to be "Alpha" dog. I hope you have a great responsible life with your babies!

My brother has a purebred pit and he is the sweetest dog I have ever known!!! His favorite song is "You are my sunshine". Can you believe that?!? If you sing it he wags his tail and just goes crazy with the licking! I don't believe that this breed is dangerous. I believe that bad people raise them to be bad. I have known of bad pits and good ones. The bad have been raised by the bad in my opinion.

I've had 2 pits before & they were the best companions I could ever have. The communities that are trying to ban them are ignorant...people who raise ANY dog to be anti-social & vicious should be jailed.
And as far as extolling their greatness - yeah, properly raised & socialized pits are great.
