Right now I am about 185 and eating way too much during dinner and after lunch. I like eating good foods and its hard for me to stop with one serving with something that is good.
I just need some ideas on how to continue to enjoy food without overeating.
**I will not do a food-restriction diet (besides chips etc).

90% of retaurants give you almost two portions of food instead of one. This supports the fact that 50% of americans are over weight. we dont want to be wasteful so we try and eat all of it. DONT do this.

Here are some tips:

when you eat a meal at a restaurant, only eat half of what is given to you. if it will help, cut everything in half right when you get your food and set it to the side.

eat slower. you will get fuller quicker if you chew your food 20 times before swollowing and going slower before each bite.

drink a glass of water before, during, and after you eat. This helps balance out feeling full so you dont eat as much

drink a large glass of water if you ate say an hour before but start to feel hungry again. dont reach for a bag of doritos, but instead drink a large glass of water. sometimes your body gets confused if you eat a smaller portionof food because its like 'hey you always feed me more than this!'. Your body will get used to not eating as much once you starting doing that every time.

I had that problem, and what worked for me was enjoying my food as i normally would but serving myself very very small portions at first. I'd finish them, wait 10 mins (how long it can take for all the food to get to stomach, and brain realize it's there), then if i was still hungry repeat. I would limit myself to two of the very small portions (which was essentially about 2/3 of what I'd normally eat).

now if i got hungry later, that's no biggy, you just have to learn to snack healthy. Drinking large glasses of milk[skim] and/or water can help. Cereal (especially things like Cheerios and Special K) is a good meal substitute/late night snack.

Eventually (say about 10 days) if you've been doing it right, your stomach will have shrunk and you literally can't fit as much food as you used to without feeling ill after wards. But there really aren't many healthy quick fixes other than the will power thing unfortunately =\

You already know the answers, you're just looking for an easy fix to a difficult problem.

Cook smaller amounts of food so that you can't snack of leftovers. Don't buy junk food (if it's not in the house you can't eat it). Shop with a shopping list and only buy what's written on the list. Eat off a side plate instead of a dinner plate. Eat slowly (with chopsticks helps) to recognize when you're full. Try starting your meals with soup or salad before the main course, as this tends to reduce overall caloric intake by 10%. When you have a craving, drink a glass of water before reaching for any food. This will usually make the craving disappear.

Eat slower so that your body knows when it's full and stop eating when you are full. Don't buy foods that you have difficulty resisting even when your not hungry. Increasing your protien intake can help to decrease your appetite. Drink lots of water!Follow lables on portion sizes, they are there for a reason. Dinner should be your smallest meal of the day not your largest. Try thinking to yourself that if you eat less of the good stuff at dinner that you will have left overs so you can enjoy it again.

No. As a lot as I like the fellow, he is ancient. At great, he might be a backup. His profession ended with unhappiness. But this question pertains to Jamarcus Russell. I wager Jamarcus must be consuming vegatables extra and give up consuming meat and get his @ss available in the market and paintings tougher. He'll make it again as a beginning QB if he does the ones matters.

When I chose to make a 'lifestyle altering' change, I had to accept that I was NEVER going back to my previous habits, no matter what. I consciously envisioned every scenario that might cause me to slip or cheat. I became involved in a support group, that had a spiritual basis. And, I found pleasure in more healthy activities.

Drink lots of water before starting your meal and with it.If this doesn't work, try eating alot of fruit or veg first, so as you won't have the capacity to overeat on the fatty foods.
Also, don't prepare loads, then you won/t have loads to eat!
