if your car is a '05 and the air doesn't work you have a failed component of a serious leak. It should stay charged with Freon for 10 years or more so if it is out of Freon already you will need to have your leak fixed. If its not a leak some part of your air conditioning system is bad, my advice is take it to the dealer or someone that specialize in air conditioning systems.

Take it in to have the freon level checked (an oil change place can do this). If you are low on freeon, it will not cool well. An a/c check will run you around $80 depending where you live.

Add frion. (free-on) . Comes in a can or go to a place where the do oil changes and they could add some for you.
