I have heard 100% cotton and I have heard other things. What are the best ones and what brands should I use?

Why would anyone ever think that cotton is the best? Cotton is the worst thing you can wear while running, on your feet or elsewhere. You need to wear moisture wicking material for every article of clothing. Choose a sock made from CoolMax® ,performance fabric/Lycra®, or spandex/nylon/acrylic. Good socks start at $10 for a three-pack, to $12 per pair. Asics has a big sock line. Thorlos are popular as well (those are the $12 socks) Go to your local running store. They will have plenty of great sock options.

100% cotton and try the ones that come to the ankle. dont get the ones that fold over. those can raise your temperature higher and make you not run as good. try the socks that are thin 100% cotton that go just below the ankle. I know you can buy them pretty much everywhere socks are sold.

Actually, what I have read is - stay away from cotton. Get some type of sock with as little cotton as possible. Cotton holds moisture and moist socks can cause blisters.

Cotton socks will give you blisters. You need a synthetic blend double layered sock. Good luck! Also, when you feet get sweaty and wet, and you want to keep on running, you need to change your socks so you won't get blisters.

Maybe a wicking sock that's supposed to wick the moisture away from the feet made of polypropylene --also can be worn under a cotton sock.. I got mine from a sporting good store for less than $5.00 made by Fox River. They are also nice to wear in the winter as the first layer in boots.--brb--Fox River Mills, Inc.Fox River is known for technical advancements in socks. ... Company Info. "

cotton for sure. it absorbes sweat. keeps your feet dry. You will pay more for a good pair of nice cotton socks but you will not replace them as often.
