I don't know exact figures, but a soldier gets hazardous duty pay, perhaps hardship duty pay, and maybe some other stuff. Going to war is worth a soldier's while salary-wise, if he can make it back alive...

well first off, its tax free, then there is hazardous duty pay which is $250 a month, then there is something called SAVE pay (dont know exactly what it means) but thats $100 a month. if the soldier is married, they get family separation pay i think thats $100 a month. and also they get paid temporary duty pay which is like $2.50 a day. i think thats everything, i went to iraq in 2003 and thats what i got.

AVD is correct I just talked to my son today, he left for Fort Drum & then Afghanistan to lead his unit. That was exactly what he said when I asked if his family needed me to send extra money each month, while he was gone. The military does try to help ease the deployment's finanicially.

Special Pays??? None!!! I have two riends in the military and they are both in Iraq.....they dont get paid well much less get paid " Special " because they went to War. It's part of their agreement to go to War for our Country and get the pay they already get regularly...they dont get special treatment or pay for going, ever!!!

If you are married you will get the family seperation pay, but you get hazardous fire pay, combat zone pay, and save pay. Though each brank of the military is different.
