Keep giving him love and attention and be patient. Cats are very territorial and he is probably freaking out from the new surroundings. What is best is usually to keep him in a safe room by himself with all the necessities, that way he can become acquainted to that room and slowly introduce him to the rest of the house. But he has already chosen the couch so be patient with him and he will eventually start to explore a bit.

Believe it or not, moving from one location from another can cause depression in cats and dogs. Is the furniture new too? Is the house or apartment larger or smaller than your old place? If you answered yes to both questions and you've attempted to show affection and played with him, then your next step is to take him to the vet. He or she will do a thorough exam on your cat and there may be something else wrong than being depressed. Your cat may have some underlying physical problem(s) that you aren't aware of.

When any pet friend acts suspiciously not like their selves, it is always a good idea to take them to the vet.

Good luck with your cat! Pets are wonderful creations for us humans who love them and can be our best friends.

Getting him a playmate is a good answer and additional toys would be good too. But I think the move has been stressful and scarry so I suggest using Feliway spray. It is excellent in calming a cat and he will be back to new in a few days of use.
You can find it online where they sell pet products.

He will eventually come out of it. Moving is very stressful for humans and pets too. If he doesn't snap out of within a couple weeks then maybe you should ask a vet. By the way I love his name, that's really cute for a cat.

How long has it been? Cats can take awhile to adjust to new surroundings. Give him a couple of weeks. Try giving him his favorite treats, and playing with his favorite toys, but nothing new for a while. Good Luck

He may be having trouble with the adjustment. If there is anything that he had in the other house that he may have lost, try replacing it in some way or finding ways to help meak him comfortable. Try getting him a new toy or talking to a vet to see if they have any suggestions.

Take him to the vet! THis happened to me after I moved house and the doctor will give him some medicine and extra fluids! After that he will be back to normal in no time!

just in case, have him tested for diabetes and a vet check him out to make sure that he was not accidently injured during your move. Other than that animals need time to adjust to a move- he may snap out of it in a couple of weeks..
