No, because being there will cause them undue stress and make the process harder for all involved.

I think it is a beautiful sentiment and I understand how you feel about the situation. I'm just afraid it could be a little overwhelming for you to tend to everything and everyone at the same time. However, if you think that everyone would benefit then you should do it.
I always feel bad when someone drops off their pet for euthanasia then leaves. This old cat or dog, in their moment of need, is all alone - the only humans they ever knew can't bear to be with them. I always try to comfort the dog or cat and put them at ease. Often several technicians will gather around and act like an instant "family" for them.
I am very sorry for your loss

I really don't think you should, nor do I think it's allowed. When I worked as a vet tech, we would take the animal being put down in a small room, light some candles and incense and the owners could say goodbye, and they usually didn't want to watch. Having other animals in the room would stress the dog being put down, and would make the process harder than it needs to be.
I'm so sorry you have to do this though.

no leave the others home they do not understand. If you have never put a dog down before its VERY hard on you.. Last year I had to put my 14 year old Dachshund down because of kidney failure. I stayed with her as the Vet did his thing I was the last thing she saw. We looked each other in the eyes then her head dropped. It broke my heart I cried all the way home. I brought her home and showed her to my other dogs they were with us when we buried her in the back yard. It was one of the most difficult thing I have ever done. I hope I never ever have to do that again.

Dogs do grieve but not sure if they would necessarily benefit from being at the event. Maybe take the dog home to bury and let them sniff and see that it is dead. Animals understand that but don't need to be a part of the process.

I see your point, but I still wouldn't do it. I think on the other hand, the dogs will always know they left the vet's office without the other dog, and that he never came back home. They will forever fear they can't come home either if they have to go...more likely they will fear the vet's office. But I do still see where you're coming from..that's a tough decision, I know, but either way, you must do what's right for your dog. I'm sorry you have to go thru this.

No. They may miss him and be a little depressed for a while, but they won't understand the process. It's better to leave them home and share a private moment with his human family members. Take them for long walks and spend extra time with them. That's the best way for all of you to move past this sad time.

no dont bring ur other dogs with u. it will be too hectic. the dog ur putting down deserves ur full attention during his last moments on earth. i suggest u find a vet who will make a house call and put ur dog down at home. they put them down at home and then the dog isnt in a place they dont know and they arent scared when they get put down. lots of vets will do it, u just need to find one that will or talk ur own vet into doing it. sorry for ur loss ahead of time. =(

I am so sorry to here this. I don't think you should bring along your other dogs. It should be a final expirence between you and your long lived companion. Though your other dogs will wine and cry for a few days to a month because they along with you will be morning. I am once again sorry to here of this news.

Absolutely ~ also you may want to check to see if your vet does house calls. I have always had family, friends and pets around with my dog when I've had to put them to sleep. Less stress and anxiety if you stay home in a familiar place.
Sorry for your pending loss.

Yes, I believe you should take them to see their brother's body for the exact reason you said, they would look for him and not understand what happened to him. They probably shouldn't watch the actual procedure though.
