You've gotten some good in put already. The Rebel is far from being all wet. He's pretty much right on. Native Americans follow what's called the Red Road. Some call it the Good Red Road. You can do a web search on those terms and get info that way if you want to take the time. Red Road isn't really considered a religion as such. Its more a personal spiritual path. There is no Holy Book that you have to accept as an authoritative document, no Prophet or Messiah that you need to pledge allegiance to. Its a personal relationship with Great Spirit. And that is what the individual makes it. Past that various tribes have traditions that tribal members may, or may not in the modern world, keep. Some are what I'll call pan-tribal. Things that just about every one does. Vision Quest, Sun Dance, Sweat Lodge, Pipe Ceremony, things like that. Why don't you see more of it on Yahoo Answers? I'll let you think that one through for yourself. But there are probably as many reasons as there are dead Indians. ~ Peace & Blessings ~

Mostly Shamanism... I don't know that many but I've read about the Hopi [tribe] prophesy that paralleled the book entitled "Celestine Prophesy", I think? Maybe the latter was based on the former, most likely... but I'm not really sure.
My brother attends a seasonal sweat lodge up in the mountains and it is conducted by a Navajo chief or elder, I gathered.
Why do we hear so little of [or from] them? Well, from originally 1,000 Nations throughout the continent before the White Man* came... all the way down to just a handful of Reservations strewn about in distant deserts far from civilization and metropolitan areas today... can you really blame them?? They are the MOST DISENFRANCHISED people in the world compared to all other races combined!
Besides, most are probably too poor to afford their own computers, that's why...
Peace be with you!

i believe the native Americans were as close to find the true religion as any one on this Planet. I am not an expert and I have little research to prove anything but....The native Americans believed the Great Spirit provided everything that we need to live this life. If you take care of it ....it will always be there for you. Don't waste anything and take care of your family. Protect your self and family if attacked. Be honorable and tell the truth. Do what you promise. Give thanks to the Great Spirit for your blessings and all will be well. I might be all wet but that sounds what I believe religion should be. I have no idea what it is called.

I THINK they don't want outsiders barging in on their private affairs, unlike other organized religions trying to recruit converts to join their church for financial gain, maybe the Indians are doing OK with the casinos, just my opinion so don't go crucifying me.

The religions themself don't have knows so much. They are shamanist or animist religions.
There were treads though that could be seen as offshoot or in somecases sects or cults of them.
false fase society -medicine men who sought to heal their fellow tribe members
Sundancers -sought to seek visions through painful ritual
ghost dancers -sought to make themselves invincible to guns
there are many many others
