Are most ghosts good or evil? Just in case, if I come up to a haunted place, should I perform an exorcism?

well just so you know i have 7 ghost/demons in my house as we speak that make themselves known and i see them and they scare me all the time and i had the preacher come and bless my house but it hasnt helped so i just deal with it i have an open Bible in every room in my house and it still doesnt help i will even give you a list of them i have a little girl that has piercing blue eyes and blonde curly hair just like me when i was a baby she even wheres my clothes sometimes and just like my mom used to babysit 2 little kids well beth was one of the little girls and she had long brown hair and that night i had a dream that beth was sitting on the end of my bed and i was sitting at the head of my bed and the little girl (ghost/demon) was sitting on the side of my bed and evertime beth would try to touch her hair the little girls face would turn to a very ugly and scary horned thing with a forked tongue like a snake and well in my dream beth had really short hair but in real life she has long hair so i found it odd that she had short hair in my dream but the next day when the kids got there beth had got her hair cut that night exactly like i had dreamed it was so scary it is impossible that i would have known that she got her hair cut and an old man that is dead looking his skin is a greenish brown color and has his skin just streched over his bones and he has hollowed out eye sockets and he stands in one of my door ways from 2 of my bedrooms everytime i see him he is just standing there stareing at me and there is a very large black figure of a man that just lurks around the corners and dark places in my house and my dog will just start barking and when i look nothing is there he will just bark at a chair or something like that its sooo weird and there is a man and a girl in my bedroom he is standing there with a knife and she is all bloody from him murdering her but i just see him fixing to stab her again like when im laying in the bed and one time i was asleep and i just all the sudden woke up and he was standing there looking down at me with a knife about to stab me but i know that he cant stab me cuz i am Gods child and i have been trying for ever since i was little to get my parents to move but our house is paid for and we cant afford to move so i just have to deal with it i live very sad life and i cant wait till im 18 and can move out of this freaky place i hate it i have delt with this all of my 14 years i have been alive

Ghosts are not evil. Banishing them doesn't make things better.

First off I'd like to distinguish between spirits and ghosts. We all have spirits which don't die when we do. Then there are ghosts which are a spiritual imprint or echo attached to a place or thing which can still be semi-sentient. Ghosts aren't always created from the moment of death, but from a moment of profound emotion, usually soon followed by death. Whether or not the ghost and the spirit are connected, and the nature of the connection, I don't know. I suspect that it is a connection which holds back the soul and prevents it from actualizing. It is only be freeing ourselves of these attachments that we can achieve enlightenment. I love and appreciate the spirits, but I have helped free several ghosts.

I'm willing to bet that you would be in favor of freeing a ghost from being trapped. Here's more or less how I usually do it. First I locate the ghost. Next I focus every bit of spirituality I can toward the ghost. I use a ring of candles, spiritual icons, idols, a bible, every spiritual thing I've got, focused on the ghost. It is very important that my intent be to help the thing, not banishment. Banishment is negative, and my entire focus has to be positive. I am bringing all these spiritual things to strengthen it so it has the power to move on. I am empowering it. I have a dialog with it, and keep the conversation going. Obviously it feels like it needs something, so I am supportive and sit with it. This can take several hours. It's got a lot to work through to get to the point where it is complete enough to no longer remain bound, so it takes time. It will try to connect to me because I'm helping it and there's an emotional connection on its part, but I'm not there for an emotional connection. I'm like a councilor helping a client. I care, but I'm not making a new friend. When it feels like it's ready, then I burn sage, and cleanse the area and allow it to be free and move on, and feel happy for it that it's able to move on.

The average exorcism seems very confrontational, and being confrontational is not a spiritually evolved position to take, and could damage the spirit who's ghost it was.

I used to be really interested in this sort of thing. I have been told by a couple of pastors that there are no ghosts-only angels and demons. Some believe 'nice ghosts' are the spirits of 'good' people who are going to hell (They weren't murderers, rapists, etc.) I wouldn't try to perform an exorcism unless you knew what you were doing.

Exorcisms are for demons, not ghosts. A ghost can be good or evil. It depends are who they were in life. A good person would become a good ghost and an evil person would become an evil ghost.

Most ghost are pretty harmless some stay because they like where they were before or they have died unexpextidly and suddenly, you can normally tell a good from a bad you will get the feeling when you know, most are harmless.

Let them be if they are not harming you and you can live together.

There are good and bad entities. You don't perform an exorcism to get them out of a haunted place, you cleanse it. And unless you are experienced, you shouldn't attempt it.

Ghosts are not dead people. There are good angels who don't claim to be ghosts but sometimes appear in human form and there are fallen angels who sometimes masquerade as ghosts. Have nothing to do with fallen angels . They will lie to you.

Most what you hear is small potatoes, not much to be concerned about. But if it get's too real, then I'd scatter, unless GOD sends you in for a REASON, stay off the Devils turf...........this goes for HIS KID's too!!!! The Devil don't play games.
