As a soldier, I am getting sick of not seeing my spouse. We have been seperated for 14 months. We both serve - him in Afghanistan and myself to Iraq. That being said, being in Iraq and seeing it first hand, I know that we cannot pull troops out of Iraq until stability is reached and the Iraqi government can sustain themselves. Unfortunately this will take years.

Yes! I have two friends in the Military ...one is serving in Iraq as we speak, and will be his 4th deployment to Iraq, he's a Marine. The other friend is in the Army, and is at his training camp being retrained to go back to War.....and they both, seperately have said to me that they, like their friends in the Military w/ them all or at least majority of which all agree that they do not like being there, that they see no point anymore in why they have to be there, and that it's really hard because it's stressful, they dont know who's a combatint or a civilian who means them no harm...they aren't playing by the same rules of War we as the USA have always played by. They have also told me that they never have enough gear or body protection for the team they are working with so some marines or army service men have to go on missions without armor on them or their cars while the others get to have it, and it's hard for them to put fellow soilders in that prediciment when they are assigned a mission to complete or an area to guard and watch. All in all....they want to get back home. They dont like Iraq at all, and the people want them out of there. ( Meaning the Iraqis want us to go home )

Just remember that Zogby has a habit of producing polls that say what the people paying for them want to hear.
The fact of the matter is that nobody likes being in Iraq - but most of the troops feel that we are winning and that we are achieving something worthwhile.
I will be so glad when Iraq is over and all of you are trying to pretend that you knew we were going to win all along. (Or pretending that Iraq does not exist.)

People in the midst of a war always get sick and tired of a war. War is hell. War is not fun, it is not pleasant, it is not a walk in the park. They'd always like it to be over. That doesn't say anything about any particular war. My dad served in the infantry in WWII. He ALWAYS wanted to come home. Everyone knew that Hitler needed to be defeated, but that didn't make war any more enjoyable.
The people who volunteered for service know that they may have to serve for a while. They know it's not going to be fun. But they believe it is important to serve their country in that way. They are courageous and dedicated to preserving freedom. You should honor them, instead of trying to demoralize them.
I didn't agree with the decision to go to Iraq in the first place, but I'm much more offended by the constant agitation among the anti-American propagandists in this country. Isn't it time to stop and just support the troops?
It's too late to decide not to invade. That decision has already been made. Do you really think the average Iraqi wants us to abandon them now after we've opened the floodgates of terrorists in their country? Remember, MOST people in Iraq are honest, normal citizens, but their country is now overrun by radical Islamist terrorists. If we just leave now, where does that leave them? Your approach to this question is incredibly simplistic and thoughtless.

As a military spouse i am sick of this war due to the fact that we are no longer in this war for the same reason the war was started. The war was started because of 9-11, only Bush knows why were stilll in the war now. You ask any one in the military now and they cant say why were stil fighting. Every time Bush opens his mouth he give us a different reason why our men and women are dying over seas.

I think most military people don't want to be there, just like they don't want to be in North Dakota in December. There is a reason that they are there, and most understand the mission and its importance. That doesn't mean they want to be separated from their families and risk their lives. Soldiers understand the life and what it entails. So to answer your question, yes they want to come home, but they want to finish the task as well.

NO , those that are actually there see the work we have done.
what they really get upset about is the poor representing of the war that is in the news. They would like to see the good things that are being done to be shown.
