I got a tetanus shot about 3 weeks ago and I think I remember reading that if I feel soreness around the spot where the shot was given I should call my doctor. I can not find my paperwork from the appointment so I am not sure what it said. Ok so my question has anyone ever heard of this before? I think that it could be and allergic reaction. If so what might be wrong? Please do not answer call your doctor I will call her on Monday just was wondering in the mean time?

If the area is just mildly sore, you aren't allergic and don't call your dr. That's normal. If the area around the shot got extremely sore, red, swollen- that's an allergic reaction.

It could mean that you are sensitive to somthing in the injection. The last time I had a Tetanus injection, I had a terrible reaction-brusing, soreness, fever, etc. It was not pleasant & took several weeks to get over. You could initially apply ice to the area, then after 24 hours, apply heat.
Hope that you feel better soon!

It could be either a side effect. Because most shots can sometimes either deliver nasty side effects or mild ones.
