I have studied OBE for years, I've bought and read hundreds of books and had many very good results. From personal experience I can say if there is a such thing as an OBE bible it would have to "Adventures beyond the Body" by William Buhlman. Do yourself a favor an find a copy, even if you have to back order it. I highly recommend you don't skip around or read ahead. But most importantly don't read any other material until you have completed this one and have had a successful experience. It is the most awesome experience of your life. It will change you forever. Never,never,never listen to any naysayers that have not PURSUED the experience with successful results themselves. You may be able to eventually find a Yoga swami, maybe in India/Tibet who may be able to do this but since this type of skill is actually a by-product of higher practice and meditation and not the actual goal, I'm not sure if you are on the right track.
You don't sound like somebody who is looking for meditation and enlightenment, since you could possibly achieve knowledge of the out-of-body travel along such a path. However if you are really along this path, you'd come to a point where such a question becomes irrelevant.

This site introduces the concept of spiritual travel. Spiritual travel is a form of out-of-body experience done voluntarily to achieve a spiritual goal. It is widely understood that when you die and you reach Heaven, you have a spiritual body. In Heaven, there is a means of thought transference whereby you can transport to wherever you want to be. For instance, you have relatives or friends in Heaven, you can think about being with them and, if you choose, you will be with them. This is the only "out-of-body" travel I've ever heard of that seems to offer any credence.

Time is not what you think it is. You travel yes, you struggle yes, you swerve away from the thing you want so badly yes too...
Let me suggest to you that if you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, that that sentience would empower a divine intervention, the equivalence to which will not permit you to feasibly claim to have not travelled to a better reality at the speed of thought.

When I was young (like 12 or 13) my best friends brother told us he could "astral-project" himself, or his spirit rather, to other parts of the house, block, town, etc. One day, he sat us down and had us relax and I don't remember what he had us focus on, but I swear, I left my body and left the room and saw my best friends mom going to the bathroom. It was weird.
Find someone that knows about astral projection.
