Why is the food in front of you? Step away from the kitchen!
Find other ways to occupy your time- especially ways that get you out of the house! When you're busy swimming lengths, attending lectures, riding your bicycle, learning a language or speed dating you won't have time to stuff your face!
Inside the house, keep food out of sight and out of mind! If you have a craving, first go to the kitchen and drink a glass of water. Usually the craving will disappear before you're finished drinking. Invest in a few boxes of Ziplock bags and divide boxes of cookies and bags of chips into individual portions (as soon as you get home from the store) so you don't end up eating the whole box. Keep soda pop in cans in your closet, so if you're tempted to drink one you have to first put it in the fridge and wait for it to cool down. I guarantee you'll forget about it before it gets cold!
Someone suggested sugar-free gum- THIS IS THE WORST IDEA EVER! Chewing gum activates your salivary glands, causing your mouth to produce saliva. This is your body's way of preparing to break down food (aka EAT), so it will just make you crave food even more. Gum = weight gain!

If you live with your parents ask them to stop buying unhealthy food or set rules for yourself and if you accomplish them all for the day give yourself a treat
DO excersise! make what you are doing fun such as dancing! even little steps like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking far away from the mall will help u try to pack more excersise into your day
DONT skip meals (when you dont eat at a time you normally would have your body will act as if you are starving and then the next thing you eat will go STRAIGHT to fat!) instead just eat smaller amounts of each food
DO satify cravings! If you are craving chocolate eat a hersheys kiss before it gets worse having small snacks occasionally will stop binging later
good luck

Become more active, when you jump in that bike your gonna feel that your tommy will make your ride very uncomfortable. The thing that has always kept me in shape after quitting smoking is, I eat healthy and I have to have a full glass of water before I start eating what I love best. If your food that your about to have is very greasy and not healthy at all, think twice before you put it in your mouth. Or if you have no choice, like for example you get invited to a place where is very important they know you liked the food. Have two glasses of water first. The water will make you fell full and you will b e able to take less food in your stomach. Try it out and see if t works. I wish you the best.

Keep your self entertained with other things try to think about anything but food. I eat food like crazy i know not good but never gain anything i guess fast metabolism. I'm pretty lazy so i need to stop eating to. So what i do is keep myself entertained for hours and try not to think about food. Then i have smaller amounts the more small amounts i have the more my body gets use to eating small instead of big. Entertain yourself by like talking on the phone, going online, going to the beach, watching T.V, tennis, or riding your bike..

Find a hobby, so that you aren't bored. If you are actively doing something you enjoy, you will be less focused on food. When you do eat, eat things that are good for you. Fruits, vegetables. Drink lots of water. Find a friend to go for a walk or join a gym together.

You should attend Overeaters Anonymous meetings. They work wonders! It's not just for severely overweight people, you'll find ALL shapes & sizes there. You can find a meeting and some great info at http://www.oa.org/index.htm
I am also obsessed with food. It's just like any other addiction - drugs, alcohol, cigarettes - except you can't quit food, you're always tempted. Get help before you get out of control.
Good luck!

now that you realize what you are doing.., now it is time to try and stop it...one thing if you are gonna snack around on things...eat things like celery stalks or something that is not fatttening...but you also could just use your mind and try and find something better to do even if it is just to move furniture around...keep yourself more occupied with things that will help you get exercise...of just watch tv and get on the computer...do not keep easily fixed junk food around either....pay attention to what you are doing....when you think the food looks so good think how it is going to look on you after you gain all the weight ..it is easier to get on than get off...i use to have a eating disorder so i do not keep alot of junk around at all...drink lots of water....

Sometimes, I feel the same way, but like all you have to do is not let yourself get bored. Like, Be active and get your mind off food. Eating just seems....well...fun...i guess when you're that bored. Seriously just go get active and like I said before; don't let yourself get bored. Keep yourself busy, and keep your mind off of your "probelem." If you keep thinking about it, whenever you say or think "I'm bored, you'll automatically think of your "probelem" and of food. Just keep your mind off of all that stuff and you'll be fine. I doubt wanting food is a serious medical issue, especially if you're aware of your wanting food.
