You can download SAPI from Microsoft it includes a free speech to text translation program.

A couple of years ago I tried them but I didn't find they were very accurate, even after lots of training

IBM's dragon naturally speaking was a popular one a few years ago.

Yes there are such things I don't know what they are called though.

Yes, but they are still rubbish, you will take longer correcting mistakes......lol
