I live in an area where I am always getting into poison ivy.
I have tried every remedy known to man and nothing works for me. Stuff like Ivy Dry only makes me itch worse.
I have found that Absorbine Jr relieves it for a short time and that is all I use anymore.

Here is a good website to check on for info you want.
There is a section about remedies and some of them may not work. So please check.
Signs of an Emergency
About 15 percent of the 120 million Americans who are allergic to poison oak, poison ivy, and poison sumac are so highly sensitive that they break out in a rash and begin to swell in 4 to 12 hours instead of the normal 24 to 48. Their eyes may swell shut and blisters may erupt on their skin. This is one of the few true emergencies in dermatology says William L. Epstein, MD. Get to a hospital as soon as possible. A shot of corticosteroids will bring the swelling down.
Thanks for you question. I have checked this website and noticed that I need to read up more about it myself.

Believe it or not, the chemical in Pine Sol is very effective. Just apply it to the itchy spots.
