The traditional male way is to firmly grasp your courage in both hands and stop ringing her (she'll eventually get the message).
Seriously, the best is face to face, and just say something like, I think we should stop seeing each other. The other person may well want to know why, so you better have something ready.
Quick and painful, sorry, but its the only way.

Just tell them clearly and concisely that things are not working out and that it is over. You should know the personality of the person and try to let them down lightly by not doing it in such a way that would cause them public embarrassment.
The worst thing that you can do is to lie and cheat someone and leave them in a state that they have no idea if they have or have not been dumped. it will be hard for the person but it will be harder if you say nothing and continue to hurt YOURSELF AND THEM. There is no easy way so honesty is the best policy and it leaves no room for misunderstanding. Good Luck.

There's no such thing as a good way but the best thing u can do when ur doing it is to tell the truth. I know that it might be tempting to lie to protect the persons feelings but in the long run you'll save a lot of heartache if you just stick to the truth. Trust me I've had first hand experience of it

face to face, and friencly better to be friendd... Don't simple stop calling as they will think they have done something to upset and want to fix it, or be left not knowing what they did wrong which can mess up fututre relationships and confidence.
Better still help them find someone new so your the friend who asked them what they think of the buff guy there or the nice **** on the other girl

Well,do it in person. Here's an example of what to say:
"Well,__________,i'm really sorry, but someone else likes me, and I still like you, but i think I'll have to break up with you."

Do it in person, and make sure you end it. Don't call to see how the person is doing or string them along or talk to mutual friends about it. Finish it.
