Fear is the absense of faith.
I believe that with a connection to a higher power, no matter what you call that power, fear subsides dramatically. With faith I know I am taken care of. I personally do not believe in hell. If I did living with a connection to the great spirit allows me to know I am loved and taken care of. I live with love and faith in my higher power, not fear.
Just my opinion

I believe in God because of faith. I have faith that he loves me enough that he sent his son so that I could be forgiven of anything that I've done. I "follow the rules" because I love God and he takes care of me.

I don't believe in God (or any religion for that matter) and despite all of other religion's threats (for that is all they really are) I still hold true to my beliefs. And so I say faith, not fear.

I believe in God because things happened to me that have no earthly explanation I knew it was Him. I have no fear of going to Hell, I realize now that I would have ended up there because I didn't believe.

I believe and i love God more than myself because without him i wouldn't be here. It is Gods decision where i must go, to hell or paradise, what i deserve, for me is faith as you.
