God doesn't require the kind of faith that I'm assuming you've been taught by our society's various organized religious cults. It is what you feel in your heart and soul, if you believe then you believe, BUT, if you need a guide in which to follow that helps you make sense of it all then so be it and don't feel ashamed or dubious of your good intent. God or the "universal power" loves you for you, and if our religions are telling us the truth then "He" won't judge or doubt your faith in him. Remember, having faith in God IS different than having faith and/or following the teachings of a religion borne by mankind. There are so many religions claiming that they are the direct conduits of God, and with them they each have their own rules, laws, and practices so be sure that you do your homework and pick something that doesn't leave you feeling empty and wickedly sinful!!! For the record I do believe in God.

How can we ever know the answer to this question?
If you believe there is a God, then by definition he does not require (meaning need) anything from us. He just is. But he may or may not require (meaning expect) faith from us.
If you don't believe in God, then in your opinion he does require faith, because without it he does not exist for you.
If you are an agnostic, meaning you believe there is God but you can never know what God is, then by default you can never know the answer to this question. You can feel one way or another or believe one way or another, but you can never know, so the question is meaningless. Probably most of you here will see this position as a cop out, but for me it is the only honest position I can take.

Your bank requires faith, your parents require faith, everything requires faith. Your God asks no more of you than anyone else however the reward is much greater..

God requires faith because we cannot see Him, touch Him or hear Him! Faith is the act of believing without these benefits. God is too magnificent to be seen with the human eye, that is why He sent Jesus...so we could "experience" Christ in human form and look upon God!

God requires faith because God is a spirit, not an actual object like you or me. I don't have to have faith in you for you to exist, but for God to exist we must have faith.

Without faith it is impossible to please God. All of us want those that we love to have faith in us. So, if we as human beings want this from others; how much more should God require it? He created us and everything in this world, and most of all He loves us. In order to receive anything from Him we must have faith in Him and act on that faith by obeying His Word.

It is impossible to prove or disprove the existence of God. Therefore, believers have faith that He does exist and non-believers (atheists) have faith that He does not exist. Both positions are belief systems, essentially the opposite sides of the same coin.
The presence of God can only be 'experienced' through the heart. Those who have an open connection to their 'heart' and its messages will be believers and those that have never opened their heart to hear its messages will choose the 'faith' called non-belief.

To believe in anything you cannot see, feel, hear, or touch requires Faith.
Without Faith that He is there, Listening to you, Caring for you, and Loving you regardless of anything you say or do... then you simply cannot believe.

since we can not see him in the flesh, it requires faith to believe that he is here with us. Faith is trusting in some one so much that you feel no matter what happens you will be alright. Faith is trusting in God with your life!
