Yes. A single woman, or man, for that matter can now adopt a child. It is also now legal for gay couples to adopt, as there is such a shortage of families willing to adopt. This is not wrong, as all of these people have a lot of love to give and at the end of the day, is n`t that what children need? A kind loving family, whatever their sex or marital status is what any child needs to grow up well adjusted and able to give love and trust in return.

i dont know about the legal side but yes a single woman shoud be allowed to adopt - just like a single male should. As long as that person is fully able to love and care for a child and support it financially then there should be no reason why not

Yes. The main concern is the welfare of the child. A single woman (or man) is often in a financial position to offer a child a good home.

it happens all the time. a single man can adopt kids too.
The government has certain requirements that a potential parent has to be able to meet.
if a person can meet the requirements then the government does not discriminate. some of the requirements can even be slightly relaxed for a child who is what is termed "a special needs case" who may never otherwise be placed.

yes of course just look at all the celebs that have done it angelina jolie, mia farrow.if a single woman can offer a good home and life to a child in need. why not

in our county you can adopt if you are a couple, single, any ethnic backround or gay as long as you meet up with the important criteria. ie have enough money to provide for a child, have no criminal backround, etc

absolutely, she can... as long as she is stable financially, mentally, emotionally and physically... single woman are even more capable in adopting children since she can take care of them well...

there are so many older children out there without any parents so ones got to be better than none dont you think, and yes legally they can adopt.
