Washing of each other feet?

This is the one thing I havent done in the bible yet, it only because I haven't been at my church when they done it yet. What does it mean to do this?

go to a pentecostal church---we do it once a year as a symbol of humility and obedience to the word of the LORD.

In the bible, it was customary for a servant to wash the feet of travellers entering a home. Feet were generally hot, sore and dry in those climates, and sandals provided very little protection. Washing of feet was the ultimate in greeting someone at your home. It was cool, soothing and prevented blisters. In one story of the bible, Jesus took on the role of a servant and washed the feet of his disciples. Showing us that he was here to care for us, as well as teach us. A great lesson in humility.

In my church we call it the "Ordinance of humility".

When Jesus walked the earth, it was customary for a servant to wash your feet when you entered a home.

At the "last supper" Jesus humbled himself and washed the feet of the disciples because they were too proud to do the work of a servant. Jesus said that those who want to be great should be servants. He their master, did the work of the servant.

It is a very unique experience, especially the first time.
