My boyfriend and I have been dating for 4 months now and last weekend we both agreed on taking a break from eachother to see what we want in our lives and the relationship. We have had some problems in the past but have made it through them all. But now the question is: Is it good to a take break this early in a relationship when both people agreed on it and also how long should it be until you know when to end this break. It has already been a week and when I spoke to him on Thursday he said by sunday. Im just done with this whole thing I wish I would have never brought it up a few weeks ago cause I feel like thats the reason why he brought it up again. We did rush into the relationship and right now times are tough with work, school(for me) and his friend moving in and also his other friend comming home from iraq and with my ex-fiance's mother in the hospital and me flying out to be with him and his mother that I was really close to. Do you think this is a bad sign?

Sorry, but it does sound like a bad sign.
If you're looking at taking a break at only four months, where do you see things in four years down the road, or fourteen? or forty?

I would think it was good and bad. Bad because all he wants is to have sex with some other girl without cheating on you (Is the case most of the time. Not all ways the case, I would have to know more about the situation to give more insight.). Good because you deserve to be with a guy better than that. Not one that would think something like that, let alone do it. You are better off with someone else. This is just my opinion on the subject there is no right answer.

sounds to me like he just wants to have his cake and eat it too.. Belive me if this guy really loved you no matter what he would be by your side. I know this because I have been married to a wonderfull man for ten years. You deserve better, leave the little rat alone. In a nut shell what he said was... let me see if I can find better if not I will come back. Now that I reworded it does it sound like some guy you want in your life ????

Why do you need a break? Are you sick of each other already? I've been married 20 years and I haven't needed a break. Maybe it is not meant to beor maybe you should both go to a counselor.

It might be a good thing or it could be a bad thing....it depends on exactly how well you trusted each other and love each other.I think it sounds like it was a good thing.
