We shouldn't expect the world to love us. Jesus said, that if the world hated Him how much more would we be hated on His account. We are in a spiritual warfare and we wrestle not against flesh and blood. - Ephesians 6 / 2 Corinthians 10

"All that true Christians are trying to do is live a life that leads others to Christ"
bingo, you found your own answer. To extrapolate for you, think about how annoying it would be if someone followed you around talking endlessly and incessantly about how you are a bad person, and if you want to not be bad you need to follow Boobaggaboony Wahahla's teachings.
OK, another example, you are walking to get some greasy food because you are hung over and this is by far the best cure. On your way, some guy who thinks he's got it all figured out is screaming at you, telling what to do. You don't know this guy, but he has the audacity to tell you how to change your life. You didn't solicit his advice, yet here it is.
Lets look at the reality now. Christians are charged to proselytize people, in effect, ensure their propagation through the years by recruiting more people. They like to do this by a "fire'n'damnation" speech, and really truly believe they know more than anyone else (unless that person is a christian).
You get the respect you earn, and even though this is a gross stereotype, Christians tend to piss people off by totally disrespecting their beliefs. So that's your main reason I'd guess.

The nonchristian world sees in christianity a group fragmented into 133,000+ sects who can't even get along with each other (petty squabbling over doctrine)....the nonchristian world interacts with 'christians' who seek to remove the speck from anothers eye while being unaware of the log in their own eye ,aka hypocrites.....and these hypocrites attempt to shove their own beliefs down other peoples throats without first trying to see where the nonbelievers are coming from, or without first checking to see if their words/witnessing are even welcome; many non christians just don't wanna hear it, so why cast your pearls before swine? You only further alienate those who aren't receptive.... a christian should speak the loudest in their actions, not their words. But it's the rare christian who actually 'walks the walk'...they're too busy running their mouths or sticking their foot in their mouths.......this is a brief response from a Christian who observes the world and attempts to see all the things through the eyes of the others.
Shalom v'shalom (Peace be multiplied upon peace to you)

As you say, there are other christians who make people who truly do "love the Lord." However....
I don't think it's hate so much as disdain. There are too many examples in my life and publically that make me have disdain for christians.
You blindly follow what other people preach AT you instead of looking for your own answers--whether that is through the Bible or other paths to insight.
Do what your heart tells you should do and in the end that is exhibiting the level of love that Jesus preached.

Well, what would you do if a stranger came up to you and started shoving fliers in your face and saying if you don't believe my way, you are going to hell? I am sick and tired of Christians telling me I am damned for my beliefs. I don't hate Christians, I just wish they would keep their beliefs to themselves. When Christianity first came into being, what was one of the first things they did? Systematically kill off the healers because they were the leaders of the nature based religions...or Goddess based religions. These nature based religions predate Christianity by 1,000. of years, and Christianity has stolen the holidays, even Christmas and Easter from nature based religions. Yes, they were persecuted...just like they have killed millions of ppl who didn't believe the way they did. A life that leads to Christ??? Good for you, I am glad you are happy. But let the rest of us be happy too.

I don't hate Christians, but that doesn't make me one. Atheist and proud of it!
Anyway, those who do "hate" normally do because you all try to shove your religion down our throats so much. It's as simple as that. When you learn that not everybody wants to hear you preaching, we'll like you a lot more. And also, learn some humility, don't say you know what God's thinking or anything like that. You know nothing of God or His plans, Pride is the original sin. Pride is Lucifer's only sin and look where he is now. Pride was Adam and Eve's sin, and look what their actions got us today. Practice what you preach, learn some humility.

People get back what they give to others. Generally if you're nice, people are nice in return. But in the case of SOME Christians, they are hateful, bigoted, mean, rude, etc., so that is what they get in return. Those that try to push their religion onto others or try to convert those that don't believe as they do are going to be met with hostility.

That is a good question. I think its the fact that they know that there is a relative truth to all of it and they just cant come to the point of accepting the fact that there is a larger and bigger and more powerful thing out there then themselfs and the things that they can control. The fact that they cant handle that is what drives them to hate.

Because you think you have the claim to Jesus and you worship Him instead of God, you attack other countries without right and slaughter people as soon as you get any power you launch a crusade(and always lose by the way). I too love Jesus and he is My prophet as well as all the prophets. But you will say No he is not

Truth matters. Love is important and so is truth. Some of our brothers have strayed into error and we must correct them. It is an act of love to want to show someone the truth. It must be done with charity and not hate. However, some Christians are dead wrong in their beliefs. Someone has to be right and someone has to be wrong, that is objective truth.
