I used to live in Hawaii. The drink of Hawaii was a MaiTai. They are fruity and they hit you out of nowhere. The recipe is as follows:

MaiTai

1 oz. light or dark rum
1/2 oz. triple sec
1 oz. sweet and sour mix
1 oz. pineapple juice
1/2 oz. creme de noyeaux

Shake and pour. Top with 1/2 oz. 151
rum.

Hope you have a great luau.

Just about anything with rum in it, especially the coconut rum like Malibu. I was at a luau in Hawaii last year, and they served Blue Hawaii's. Have a great time!

Make some jungle juice...everyone brings a bottle of whatever and you mix in some 7-up, cherry coolaid or fruit punch and pineapple juice. Also buy a bunch of different tropical fruits and add to the mix! It's always a hit! I add pineapple, oranges, grapes, etc....

If you're looking at getting people completely smashed, I'd suggest making Zombies. They're full of tropical fruit goodness and several kinds of rum.
